New Tow Vehicle

Pimp,
Get them things matching and get 6 rims you be styling.:rof:
I tow a convincor with a caddy but mines a little different then yours.

Did you just slam an entire 3.42 rear in or switch the ring and pinion? I don't think 2.93 was an available ratio in the 10 bolts. They went 2.73, 3.08 and up. I know on the Mustangs my buddies had back in the day they picked up mileage when going from 2.73 to 3.55 since the engine didn't lug as much on the highway.

John

I replaced the ring and pinion, differential, axle seals and all. And yes almost every one of these Caddys came with the 2.93. I am by no means a Chevy guy and don't really know my stats very well but I believe my rear is a 8.5" 10 bolt and it did have the 2.93 in it, according to the Comp Nine report.

Because I do tow my stuff around a lot, I have thought of a gear vendors tranny just to see what that does to mpg. I'll wait until I toast this one first though.

I like the Escalades, but my wallet isn't fat enough. Rather I want my 5.0 back. I'm going to use this as the "tow only" rig and I'm buying another 5.0 soon enough. That'll be my daily driver.

It already comes with one from the factory but maybe putting on a bigger after market one is a good idea. Or at least a temp gauge to monitor it.

Say what you want....that is a comfy ride! And has some power to boot! My grandparents had an LT1 Roadmaster of the same vintage....loved that car.

I would find a stealthy place to put trans temp, coolant temp, and oil pressure gauges. Don't need anything fancy, some of the small Autometer ones would do the trick. I wonder if a pillar pod set up from an Impala SS would fit?

I'm pretty sure they will fit. I was thinking some digital ones to match my current archaic digital dash.

That actually came to mind after I posted. I'm sure you can find some Knight Rider style gauges for it.

What app is that and how do you copy the screen on apps?
Dave - The app is called Car Care. I have an iTouch as I'm too cheap to buy an iPhone and you click the button in the center bottom that brings you to your home screen and the one on the top right that makes it go to sleep at the same time.

Thanks, just looked it up is it worth the 2.99 purchase price?

I like it. I have both my cars on it. You can schedule your services and such. I've always liked to keep track of my mileage as I feel like it lets you know if something is wrong. I have all my vehicles history on it and you can export it via a text file if you want to.

Here's the one on my iTouch (bottom right).

Thats the one I found, I usually stick with free apps as I am a cheap azz. :poke:Looks like you have some updates to download from the app store.

Do you use safari for internet forums or a different browser?
