It's time for October 2013's Boat of the Month Vote! :)

October is here, the start of the fall months, the season for us northern Folks is quickly coming to a close, so let's get a good pic out front! :thumb:

This months contest includes four holdover pics (due to a tie last month), plus two brand new pics which were chosen by the community. Here's how this deal works for those of you who don't know...

The top vote getter in our poll will be declared our "Boat of the Month" for October 2013 and the bottom vote getters will be eliminated from next month's poll. The remaining three boats will carry over to next months poll and we'll find two new ones to add to make a total of five.

Here are the rules! Please read them before voting!

1) To be eligible to vote in this poll or any poll, you must have 100 total posts and have been a member for at least 365 days. If you wish to bypass those two thresholds, then you have the option of joining our supporting member program.

2) NO voting for your own boat!

3) No relatives or family members voting for your boat either. IF multiple voters are found with the same I.P. addresses voting for the same entry, we will view this as suspicious and we will investigate. If irregularities are found, the entry in question will be dealt with appropriately.

4) One member, one household, one vote! You are only supposed to have one account. If you have multiple accounts, contact me and I will merge the accounts into one with combined posts etc. Given that you're not supposed to have multiple accounts it stands to reason, you shouldn't be using multiple accounts to cast more than one vote. Again, if this is discovered, we will deal with it as fairly as possible. However, if an owner is found to be stuffing the ballet box so to speak, or breaking the rules, the most likely result will be disqualification from the poll. Claiming your two year old voted or the family dog has an account and voted won't wash!

5) All votes will be public. So names will appear beside the voting option similar to how they appear for the nominations.

Let's remember folks, this is supposed to be a fun little feature people. Let's not take it too seriously. Let's keep some perspective and have some fun.

Pics up for consideration are posted below. :)

Entrant #1, Jupiter Pulsare's Outboard Convincor. :)

lets not vote for the most beautiful boat the checkmate factory ever produced....and have it on the entrance page on this forum:thumb:
this site never stops amazing me:irked::shakehead:

"lets not vote for the most beautiful boat the checkmate factory ever produced...."

I agree Ross. I think Jup's 28 OB, pound for pound is the coolest iconic Checkmate ever built! But then again I am patrtial to twin OB Checkmates.....

I agree Ross, but it's not just about the boat

I think way too many Pulsares win it and I now own one.

I love the Punisher and Jup's 2800OBX but neither is the best pic of those boats. Jup's boat is lost in the background and the Punisher is out of focus or something?

I didn't vote and usually don't, because I'm happy with what everyone else chooses anyway. I really do want both of those to be a "boat of the month" at least once or twice, but that picture of Eddie's boat is off the hook good.

This is my opinion and I'm not trying to start any trouble.

Buy the way he paid a little more then $25000 for it, otherwise I might of picked it up.

Everybody has their own preferences and opinions. These polls shop that every month. This country couldn't pick the right candidate for president and we're worried about BOTM.

and I'll say it again. Its picture of the month. No matter how bad azz a boat is. If the pictures not as awesome its not going to do well.

I've often wondered why we don't have a POTM (pic of the month) poll to go with the BOTM poll. I think I may have even suggested it at one point but it didn't go anywhere. But after a bit I realized that BOTM is really POTM or (a great shot of a nice boat). After all if BOTM was based solely on the "best checkmate" then the winner would most always be the same boat.

As long as I have been a member I notice people seem to vote for the member they like the most rather than the boat anyhow.

By the way I voted for eddies Pulsare because it's a great shot of a nice Checkmate.

that's not a "good" pic of a $250,00 checkmate? I have no clue what the owner paid but come on!:poke: lets vote for a 2100 in action instead:sleep:

No, it's a terrible picture of a very nice boat. Couldn't give a rats ass what he spent on it either.

Another case of someone posting up "OMG BOTM..." that's pretty standard around here. I'm sure Check253 would have much preferred a picture of his choosing vs someone else jumping the gun.

A good running shot of his 43' should be a hands down winner, but this month, Eddie has his 2100 hanging out running it like it should be....not putting around in the bay, thus, my BOTM.

You know what they say about opinions though.

Wow, guess I'll have to get with Bill and see if we can't set up a professional photographer shoot! I see the "other" picture has a professional photographers signature on it. Guess that's what matters here. So sorry about the quality, best we could be prepared for the day after he bought it. Have to make sure I go buy a Nikon or Canon before ever offering up pictures again.

Just terrible....
