down at boston pizza were you? i had a beautiful 21 pulsare come into the bay earlier this summer but the striping was a little different. very nice looking boat you have there.

I am getting between 74 and 77 on GPS with the setup in my Sig, you should get that and a little bit more with yours.

74-77 is tons of speed out of a 25p tempest on a 200 opti

I am getting about 76 on GPS with a 27p tempest @ 5700-5800.

I have a 25 that I have not yet tried.

What size opti do you run on your 21ft? Is it a B/R or closed deck. Getting a bad chine at 55. I can only dream of the 70's.

You should not be having this happen. Is your steering adjusted properly or if it is hyraulic, bled properly? Your motor could be too low as well.

Boat and motor are a year old. Was set up at Checkmate of Fargo. I think the motor is too low as well. I'm bringing it out to my local Merc dealer to give the motor, steering etc. the once over and raising the motor on the jack plate. I'm not sure if the motor has been checked since I'm the second owner.

My setup is very very similar to yours. (i did look at buying the boat you bought... Nice boat by the way)

I have a 2100br with a 225 Pro xs running 27p tempest. I can drive at 60-65 with no hands on the wheel. Top speed is about 76 on GPS

You should easily see the low 70's withhout much effort.

X1 FCAT That 2100 was rigged at the factory, we never saw the boat in person, it was delivered directly to Tennessee. It looked great in the pictures. Good Luck!, Dave, Checkmateboatsfargo.com

Sorry about that Dave, I stand corrected, you are right.

Thank you both for the compliment.

Dave, the Sunday night before is was going to call you to make arrangements to buy a 21 B/R from you, I saw this one being advertised 2 hrs drive south from me...I figured it was meant to be and could not pass it up. Thanks for your help and will refer you business to anyone I talk to about my Checkmate. I sure do get a lot of compliments and looks when I'm out on the lake or trailering.

I do hope that I can get this thing cranked up soon to where is should be.

IZ is your 225 Pro XS an opti? Did you buy it new or used? In our area?

Just wondering. May be in a year or two I'll upgrade the power before it gets too old.

It is a 225 Pro XS Opti, new this years. I bought the boat form Dave in Fargo and the motor was from Jaco's in TN. Dave rigged the boat for me and did a perfect job.

I was hoping to get an XS, but the deal on this package was pretty good. It was quite a bit cheaper and didn't have to drive 6 hrs to pick it up and take it across the border. It would have been nice to get a new pkg, but I had my local dealers try to find an XS but no luck, then this came along. I really was ready to buy from Dave in Fargo (great guy to deal with) that Monday but saved some serious cash between the two deals.

Post some pic's I'd like to see.

is the boat balanced? you can get a chine walk if the boat is out of balance - if the battery, oil tank, etc is all on the drivers side instead of midship or passanger side - that could be aggrivating it. i don't recall reading of anyone who has a problem with chine walk at that speed with a pulsare. good luck getting it sorted out. i've driven a bunch of different checkmates over the years and never had chine walking issues. every one of them you could let go of the wheel at 50+ mph and they stay straight and true (not that i'd reccomend that)

I was only able to get the PRo xs from the US. I also tried to buy a boat in Canada but had very little luck finding a motor. I looked at your Rig when Glen brought it back from the US. It was clean clean. and seemed like a fair deal. Not sure what you paid but the boat and motor was a close to new as you can get. Dave in Fargo is a great guy to buy from.... I would easily buy another boat from him.

If you get down to Muskoka one weekend we have a number of props that you can try on that thing. The Turbo 2+2 may not be the best. It should give you great hole shot being only 24p. I know with 8 people in mine spinnig the 27 it is slow but okay getting up.

Thanks for the offer. I think my boating for this summer is almost over. I have my weekends booked from now till thanksgiving. I really would like to do some boating there next summer. It really was a short summer for me, between not getting my boat until mid July and doing some major clean up after the major wind storm we had up here.

I'll keep intouch and see if we can't hook up next year.

I just got back from Hunter's Bay Marine picking up my boat. The motor was not set up properly from day one. Too many little thing to mention. Dave from Fargo I do appologise again for saying that you rigged this boat.

Before check over and prop change 64 mph on gps and after 74 mph on gps. 26 pitch trophy plus (wanted hole shot and a little top end)...now that's more like it.

Yee Haa!!!
