Sandblasting and Painting a C-Hawk Trailer

Has anyone here ever sandblasted and painted a trailer? If so what was the cost? Maybe buying a new trailer is cheaper?

Sand Blasting around here runs about a dollar a minute. I'm sure some one in that business can give you an idea what it would run. Yours would not be the first boat trailer they did. They would also tell you how to prep it for them like how to cover the brakes, that kind of stuff. Some places will even spray it with primer when they are done. As far as I'm concerned its way cheaper than buying a new one.

Bright silver-colored urethane which adheres to all ferrous metals including steel, cast iron, galvanized and stainless steel. Wets, seasl and adheres to firmly attached rust. Dries rapidly allowing for multiple coats in a day.

Its been a few years ago, but I chemicaly striped mine and it worked great. All in two days. 1st day readied the trailor, striped it and shot the primer. Next day I shot the color and and reassembled. I think it was apx. 50 bucks for a gallon of striper and a wire brush.

The last trailer I did was for an 19 ft boat tandem axle and it cost 250 to blast it and 300 to powdercoat it.

you can rent a compressor and blaster from united for half a day for around $250- which is about what a shop would charge you-- i would recommend having a bunch of stuff to blast or have it done- round up the buddies and cover the costs!!
