" For Sale" (SOLD)2005 ZT-280--525efi--XR Drive--Showroom Cond.

hey thanks Bob! that is consistent with what the original owner claimed. i took him for his word but i just didn't have the chance to confirm it. not that i didn't believe him because he is probably one of the most honest and genuine guys i've ever met. this boat was his baby and it shows! he spent many more hours cleaning, shining and polishing this boat than he did using it. that and the fact that he owned a house boat and fishing boat. he only ran the checkmate in the best weather conditions and really babied it. whoever ends up with this 7 year old boat will have a hard time telling it apart from brand new.

Since I started advertising on major sites I have had three different brokers/salespeople contact me asking if they can add 9-12% onto my asking price to advertise and sell it for me at no charge. of course I am quick to turn them down. what does this actually say if anything about my boat? do they actually do their homework or are they simply fishing?

I feel my boat is reasonably priced now and IMHO an additional 12% would price me out of the current market.

the dealers are just looking to add inventory that costs them almost nothing just ad fees. Your boat was listed higher . i feel the listed price is fair with some room to move . its a tough market . i follow it pretty well and the only boats that are really moving are the " great deals" there is alot of brand competition in that 50K to 60K range . spring is almost here that should help. One plus about a good broker is they can do finance work and take trades . its a great boat hopefully you can get your price.

It can be a real pain selling boats. I always list mine at 10% over my cost. I don't think that is an unreasonable margine to ask for the financial risk I am taking to have it in house. So I am expecting less than a used boat broaker wants to just sell it??? You have a one of a kind rig so stick to your guns. Have you had the guys call yet and offer half of what you are asking?

thanks Bob I appreciate it! it's pretty early yet at least in our neck of the woods so I don't plan on slamming the price. no I haven't had any low ballers come through yet but I'm sure they'll pop up soon enough. I think I've made it clear that the term FIRM is an illusion and OBO is a reality. wave enough cash at anyone and eventually you'll find their soft spot. I'm no different. I'll need another boat so trades are still welcome.

My favorite boat in the forum and I don't have the money right now :brickwall:

Good luck Sip, hope you sell it to a worthy buyer that'll take care of it as well as you do.
Boats that nice and the people who take care of them as well as you do are both hard to find.
