Time to pick a motor V131

That's what I thought. Does anyone know if you can remove a section of the outdrive to make it a short shaft?

I would say no because the drive shaft would still be the same size for a long shaft . But for some crazy reason I could be wrong .

Yes, as long as you get all the parts that go to the short shaft. Mid, drive shaft, and shift rod.

Is that a electric shift or mechanical?

Well I guess I am going to finish customizing the interrior, give it a paintjob and freshen up the wires, hoses, prop, impeller ect on the motor and drop it in the water. I got a friend who wants to get a boat so it may be his when it's all done.

Will make a nice project for sure . Keep us posted . Not turning this into a fishing boat are you ?

I am actually thinking of building a bench seat across the back and putting the gas tank in the bow. Any thoughts?

I think checkmate does a great job of balancing their boats. If the tank in in the rear keep it there unless your adding a lot more power(which your not). Moving it might have a bad effect on the handling of the boat.

Audio Guy, I may have the Ultimate Small High HP motor for you, if your still looking. I Sell boats and motors etc at a small marina in southern Wisconsin, we have a 1977 or 1976 Johnson 75 Stinger 3cylinder Looper, Manual Trim,Runs Perfectly, needs some white paint and some TLC, its been sitting, but every year ive been there (3yrs) i go out in the spring, hook her to water, and she starts, sounds incredible, but im a OMC/BRP guy.Parts are EZ to get, we also have a same vintage 70hp OMC,assorted older Evinrudes of all small sizes,50 and down, even a Original 1971 or so,50HP Lark 2 cylinder looper, 15 inch shaft (factory of course) all MINT, with controls, and I Mean MINT.
