wanted outboard convincor

Recieved a call form the owner. He said he was offered $9,000 and he is going to accept it even though I gave him a $500 deposit towards the $8500 we agreed on. He said the other guy is going to just hook it up and leave opposed to hearing it run like I wanted to. Part of me feels it wasnt meant to be and the other part of me feels what he did was unethical. life goes on....Still looking for that outboard convincor

I had a feeling that was going to happen. When youi procastinate on a deal that is that good, then you are bound to loose it. That boat is worth 10k as it sits. Next time have something in writting or better yet, show up with the money and drive home with it. I highley doubt that you are going to find a better deal. Time will tell. You better break out the savings account next time... Don't mean to sound like an ass but I have to say, you kind of dropped the ball. I know you gave a deposit but I would have given half, then that would have sealed the deal....

Pulse171... That sucks!

Lots of crappy people to deal with out there...
Seems like EVERYTHING has to be in writing now days...

tradtionally people leave $100, I left $500 to seal the deal and wasnt going to leave anymore on somthing that the owner was hesitant on letting me see the whole boat or listen to the motors... We had it written on paper and the guy made it sound like I could take my time...If he wanted more he shouldve said so. A hand shake is a handshake especially when theres a 500 deposit and a written deposit slip..what are you gonna do, life goes on , if these are my problems , im doing pretty well for myself..Somthing tells me its a blessing. I have 5 months to find te right boat.

I apoligize. I didn't think you had it in writting. That is a dick move then and I would say that was a crappy thing to do. I would have flipped on the guy. A deal is a deal.

The owner's buddy on S-F, posted that the boat was sold last weekend. Too bad, looked like a good deal for someone.
