hi all----name is steve---38 years old married with 3 kids from Troy, N.Y. (upstate near albany)----did most of my boating about 20-25 years ago growing up in huntington on long island----havent had a boat since i was 18 or so---been a long time. about 3 weeks ago we bought a 1985 diplomat in beautiful shape from the original owner and am ecstatic to be back on the water. this is a great community here online and im glad to be here. ive made my living and basically grew up working as an auto mechanic with my father and have been doing it professionally now for over 15-16 years---if there is ever any help or advice i can give on a technical problem i wont hesitate to help out.

I know we have members from the U.S. and Canada, but I was wondering how many of the 50 States we have represented and how many of the Canadian provinces.

So state your state or province I'll add your name to the list and let's see how we do.

Just got myself a 87 Starflite with a 200 merc. I'm out here on eastern Long Island, NY. Didn't know a thing about Checkmates when I bought it. But I am sure glad I did and am going to keep it going for as long as I can!
