bought a 2000 280zt last august puting together a 540 with a procharger looking for about 850hp, and possibly mid90's. who has what and how fast. From Toms River NJ.

Great idea for a thread man.
I remember seeing a pulsare in an old thread here w/ a 300merc that could run about 100mph.

There are some pretty fast Enchanters, Predictors and starflights here that are at least in the top 10 fastest checkmates.

My 16'6'' predictor w/ a built 150 black max & 25p stainless has run over 70gps w/ no jack plate. The GPS was on my friends boat that I raced. He has a 16' sidewinder with a built 200 merc and he ran 73-74mph and i passed him at about walking speed.

i have a 95 216 convincer with a 540ci blower and 2.5lbs of boost.i was running 96 on gaffrig gps. looking to put a super chiller on this year and bump the boost to 3.5-4.0lbs of boost.

sounds like cmate22 is in the lead at 96mph. Maybe I should through my 2.5 efi 260hp. on my predictor for a day and see what it will do. It runs over 100 on the Eliminator, I bet I could get over 110mph with it, but I probably would end up dead if I tried it.

I know there is a guy on here from around Prior Lake, Mn. his screen name is cmate280, runs a 280 merc on a pulse 185 and runs mid 90's gps.

The boat that went to the poker run last year. They were out of western michigan with the twin turbos and #6 out drive is flat out the fastest. The numbers are huge I believe 1300-1500 hp and 110-115 mph.

that pushes that boat good for low boost did you ever dyno the motor? Im building a similar setup but with a procharger, thats what came with the boat trying to save some funds. but gonna run around 10lbs of boost.

I do use a stand alone system. I've had both Haltec and BigStuff. I am now using the BigStuff 3 and have found it to be a great system. It is tunable through your laptop.

Mike M, Sounds like we will have similar boats. I got a 2001 ZT280 powered by a 540 Procharged M4, 7lbs. boost. Dual 450 carbs from Nickerson on a Holley tunnel ram. Never dealt with programmable ign/efi. Makes over 900hp, runs mid to upper 90's. Great acceleration and very stable with some tab.

as of now its gonna be a 540 dart pro 1 345 heads hyd roller 630 lift running 10lbs boost, hoping to make around 850hp. pro charger m1sc. thats the charger that was on the boat when i bought it. just trying to save a little money using some of what i have.has anyone ever run two of the smaller intercoolers in series? would it work? I have two now and was wondering If I could make it work without buying the larger one, as long as I ran two seperate water lines.

Not me, all I've got is a 454 (300hp) in a 253 Convincor that runs a solid 58 to 60, but nothing looks better than a Checkmate or rides better than one.
