Ice testing. The weather was warm, but the water was still a little chunky.

by the way I do like boat if it's built to CHECKMATE standards it should run a lot better!!!
 
The horn looks stupid their. If your going to put one their put 2 so they look uniform its not rocket science.
 
Wow that horn looks as stupid as having three nipples.

Okay it's in the water....but it's still attached to the trailer!
 
You guys crack me up, Lazy eye, third nipple!!!!

I could think of a number of good places to stick that horn!
 
that horn does look out of place there......things like that need to be symmetrical

I still like the colors and graphics of that boat........but I (and everybody else on here) want to seee if building it the "Checkmate way" makes any difference on the numbers.

Ice chunks at 70+ mph would be a good test of the hull's strength....hehe:D
 


You all said this thread was worthless without numbers, so I figured I would post a few.

Engine Size: 496 Mag
Gear ratio 1.1:50
Prop size: 26 Bravo one
Engine RPM: 4950
Slip: 13%



 
You would have to throw in 24.5 or 25 in the calculation for the 26 Bravo, Bravos are usually 1” to 1.5” less in actual pitch then what is stamped on them….so you get 66.6mph to 67.9mph, which is consistent with what I’ve always seen these boats do.

Before this gets out of hand I would like to let you all know that Mike C and I did get 69 plus and one pass at 70 MPH. The runs were few and short because it was cold.

Maybe the 70 MPH was because of the cold water? :D
 
Ok Dean, Tell us what the gps had to say! Besides watch out for that ice and take the brass monkey inside tonight.:lol: boatman
 
Craig, How do you come up with these pitch numbers? If your motor is turning more rpm's or your boat is running slower at a higher rpm, how do you know it isn't slip? Just curious. boatman
