ZT 280 chine walk

Many thanks! I wouldn't be on this site if I didn't own a checkmate.when reading a lot of the posts on this site. It seems to me the boats coming from the factory are ill equipped or poorly designed. Let's see, chine walk built in,needs different prop, needs solid motor mounts, needs hydraulic steering, raise motor way up,the best one is have hull blueprinted! Etc. Etc. Or you don't know how to drive.do you think a bayliner needs all these mods to handle or perform half decent? I bet not. Signed just another school bus owner

Whatcha got?

Whats wrong with upgrading to make them faster then when they left the factory? Mine did have the hydraulic steering added when the stock 454 was pulled and something larger went in, nothing wrong with making it safer. It also had the hull blue printed before it left the factory new. What is your concern with blueprinting that you don't like it?

As far as the bayliner comparison how do you compare a family boat to a performance boat?

Dosn't NEED any of the things listed if your desire is to run a factory boat.
Its the same as the car world. To get better performance your going to add, subtract or modify what came from the factory.

I think you might just want to sell yours to someone who understands this and get something else.

If you want to run 45, go get a Bayliner. If you want a Bayliner to run 85, lets see what needs to be added to make that thing go down the lake. I'm guessing one might say it's a tad "ill equipped".

You don't by chance own a Senator with a "throw hole" exhaust do you? :D
I thought it was "threw haul" exhaust.

Blueprinted before it left the factory? If that's the case think they should check their molds? So all the rest of us have inferior hulls? Sign me just another bus driver.

Welcome to the world of performance boating! We will dismiss your comments as you obviously are new to boating over 40mph and don't know much about performance boating or what hull blue printing is.

When you start pushing a smaller v-hull closer to 100 mph then the 60-70 mph it was designed to run from at the factory, modifications will need to be made to the set up to get it to perform correctly at the higher speeds.

Same goes for making a Bayliner go from 35-40mph to 70 mph if you have the balls to run a Bayliner that fast.

Im thinking its the cookie monster in disguise. No real Checkmate fan would bash this brand . Just no reason for it . No pics or no location or anything. Move along troll boy!!

Blue printing is actually more common than you think, a bunch of well known brands offer it as a factory option, as well as some of the super high end brands as standard. They do the gel coat thicker in the molds with the plans to sand it out. Cm is putting out a really nice product at a reasonable cost, and giving you something that works very well for the speed it is intended to go.

My old 1984 2800SX Outboard Convincor was factory blue printed...:thumb:

I wish I had the time to sign up on a board, pretend I know what I'm talking about, and bash them just to get a reaction. Life must be pretty boring when all you do is guard bridges all day...
