2001 Evinrude 250 HP FFI Problems

Dude Im so,so,so so sorry I didnt call you back, it has been a zoo at the shop and at home. I can help you with DFI tech, call me at the shop, my cell is goofy, 920-787-5873 Friday 8am-5pm saturday 8-7, sunday and monday off, CELL- 920-295-2069 if I dont answer the cell right away text me or call again. Dude I feel like a dick cause I didnt call you back, just so you know I really wanna help, your NOT BUGGING ME by calling me again and again, I get flighty and busy and My A.D.D. screws me up. I can get the DFI done for like $400 If I remember right, my buddy does lots of work with them, we might want to talk to Brett (engineer and drag racer of FICHTS and ETECs) hes the Man, and see what else might want to be checked. Just wanted to give Brannon props, got off the phone with him earlier, hooked me up with DFI for $450.00 to repair the EMM. Thanks I appreciate it!!!:thumb:

Cmpulse170 ...... sorry to hear about the job situation but things will work out for you. As with some of the others , I was zapped after 30 years with the phone company about a year and a half ago. It's a tough go but there are companies looking for experienced people so don't worry, you'll find something. I've been waking up to the alarm for the last 6 months.

Sounds like things are looking up for the boat so you are half way home !!

You know what sucks Fellow 'Mate brothers???? I am Banned for LIFE from screamandfly.com because at times Ive given out my cell #,never,ever have sold ANYTING because of scream and fly,yet because ive helped guys simply with info,and I work in the marine business they said it impeded on their paying sponsors, Im just here and everywhere to Learn and Help when I can. But IF I had helped Rob over there Id be banned, Im not making a nickel on Rob,I just told him a month ago Id hook up a Fellow Evil'Rude Brother,as you guys know we are few and far between. I have pics of my 1996 Intruder 175 60 degree Merc Killer. My Hydraulic Jack plate fell thru,but for $200 I can get a Slidemaster 8inch and be done,so it will still haul ass. My Hydrostream bros are sayin it should Rock n Roll with a 28pitch Raker prop,that sounds a Lil steep,but I have a 23 Original SRX silver streak Chopper,22 Raker V4 on my Johnson 140, 24 Raker Original in mint shape, and a 25 Renegade bass boat prop,for now 1 of those will work. Thanks for the Kind words guys,its nice to hear on a forum for once. Im literally not here for praise or thanks,profit or sales, just here to learn my Mate,setups,and help dudes with broken motors etc.....Ill post pics of the Evil'Rude tomorrow...Brannon

Hey Rob,

I may have a temp position opening up any my Co, it is some manual labor but not to terrible like ditch digging or anything, its cleaning up the boat lifts we manufacture and putting the finishing touches on them, probably a month long gig or till we get caught up, but we also just got a contract on building bouys for the coast guard/bp for cleaning up that little oil spill, they only want 10,000 of em, but anyways if its something that you would be intrested in temporarily while you look I can work my magic since I am the production manager.... if its not thats cool i wont take offense, i just would rather give the job to someone thats stand up and in need than to some random joe shmoe, just let me know sometime this week if your intrested!

I forgot to mention that DFI has a week turnaround time, so I should have the EMM back the week of the 14th.
 
I called DFI this morning to make sure the EMM got there, don't need the computer lost. Anyway talk to the tech guy and he said it sounded like a component failure in the computer. He also said they will make sure nothing elses fails or keep it from failing again and upload the latest software. The turn around time was even quicker, it possible to have the EMM repaired today or tomorrow at the latest.
