2001 320 Convincor on Boattrader...

so when i was looking for a bigger boat for a total of six months i was refered to as a "tire kicker" what do you call someone thats been looking for a bigger boat for 2 years????LMFAO!
You know I have been pretty content with the green boat. I put it out there but really didn't care if it sold. I was more so dreaming of a bigger one before. Now I am forced to make a decision but I want to be well educated on the boat, performance, and mostly price. Nothing worse than jumping into a deal just to buy and finding out that you really got screwed due to being uneducated ;)

isnt anyone boating this weekend
Nope, them northerners are too cold, I got no boat, and Ross is ....... LOL. Cumberland poker run is today so there is a few down there:surf:

its actually a good boating day up here but mine is at the mechanic i really think you need to start taking some stuff for a test ride you may just have to be that guy who rides and doesnt buy for a while until you figure out what is gonna work for you

"My goal is to have a boat that can run 90+ with mild motors that have boost to them. Something that is turn key reliable. I figure building 650hp motors like Nick has in his 24 should do the trick with a total of 1300hp. With that being said, the 454 mag motor is a great base for this platform. Plus there is a ton of used headers, heads, and procharger setups out there for these motors to save there as well "

Dang YF, did you win the Ohio Lottery and not tell anyone!

I didn't even know they made a 320 Convincor. Is it the old 303 and they started counting the swim platform like they did with the 270 and 300.

That would be a really cool boat, but with all of the things YF mentioned he would need to come down in price. Like someone said 10K at least.

And YF, you weren't being too picky some of those items are red flags. Dirty bilge and dirty oil along with some of the other things would make me lowball him.

I agree totally, also the low hours could be false, the guy is a "Used Car Salesman". Those meters could have been disconnected for a bunch of years. I would make the guy give me a test ride and prove the speed as 78 sounds like a lie also.

For that money I would look for a few years newer with a normal amount of hours. A lot of things age on equipment even if it is, just sitting there, I think paying a big premium for low hours is a mistake. Pay a little extra sure but not $10,000. If the whole boat is mint and really well taken care of that's when you pay more.

Good luck shopping

Keith.. in my 21 the hour meter also runs off the ignition switch- you're not alone there and I'd bet money this boat is wired the same way. On my 24, I use a tiny tach hour meter that has a small wire that coils around a spark plug wire and only counts running hours. Lets face it, these meters on the older motors are only good for keeping track of maintenance intervals.

Brian, don't make me strap a JATO rocket on my swim platform... cuz I already had Kunkels drop one in the bilge!! Ain't no more room in there!:D

Story of the 320......... It started life as a 303. In 2001, they renamed it the 320 and counted the swim platform as part of the length. 2007 was the last year of the convincor 320. :sssh:

Little know fact...... same hull and interior as the ZT330. They added onto the transom to support the built in swim platforms of the ZT line! ;)

The 301 is a different boat all together.

Nope, I cut a branch off Nicks money tree and with a little root stimulator, its producing hundreds and fiftys!!! With them hundreds and fiftys, come big azz titties!!! I love me some titties!!!:banana:

Twin engine ride, why even piss around with a Checkmate get a bigger boat for your back. Why settle for a 20 year old microwave when you can have A/C, shower and a full craper and run faster with no engine mods.

All I want is a 30' boat. Any bigger it becomes a hassle to take it out without a crew. Checkmate is a great boat overall. IMO, one of the best out there for the money. Everyone is different but at this point in my life, I will only buy a checkmate. Those big boats are bad ass but they are not something I would want.
Wait, your talking shower and crapper??? This coming from a guy who is so anal about his boat......what would you do if Nick snuck down in your cabin and clogged that ****ter with a Lima sized #2????:rof:

Answer before statement!

Ok here it is, The hour meter is connected to the key. Turn the key and time starts clicking. This may have added a little to the overall time but not much since the only time the key is turned the boat is running. Everything else will work with the key off and just having on the batterys.

I love fountains but there is about what...4' of wasted space with that nose. Bad ass boats tho. I am going to mechanicsville, MD soon to look at a 300 w/496's. We are trying to meet up with Keith, how far are you from there Bob? Maybe we can all grab dinner together when I come out.

We take it a little further south for a run in Lake Normal !!!! ooppps Norman !!!!!
Trust me, there ain't anything normal there

I knew you had to much tree root to smoke that night!!

Not to far. I'm in. Let me know. I love shopping for boats.

That Fountain looked nice though.

Sounds like a plan! I got a friend looking over a 303 for me this week. Its a bit older (1995) but has been kept near perfect condition...or so he says:rolleyes:. If it checks out, I am going up with the dually and cash. If it doesn't then I will be coming out your way. I should just have Keith give that 300 a once over. I would be real pissed to drive 10.5 hrs each way to find its not what its supposed to be.
I love shopping for boats before I had a high standard in boats:brickwall:. Now I look at boats that owners claim to be "showroom condition and still smell like new" and upon inspection, they need work. The best is when they are faded so bad the colors are undetectable. The owners response is "ahh, a coat of wax and it will be fine" Or sunburned interior "that vinyl is only dirty, it will wipe right off. It was not that way last week when I covered it" RIGHT, what ever you say BUDDY:thumb:

I'm going down that way next week or the next. I told you I can swing by and look at it. I'm pretty anal on calling out junk. Would save you alot of miles!
