2001 320 Convincor on Boattrader...

Good looking boat super low hours only 62 thats crazy. Not sure about the horse head they always looked like a big blob from a distance to me. Are they a decal or gel

Nice boat. I even like the horsehead. It's the fat guy in the pictures that I could live without! :rof:

I looked at it wed night. Horse head in person looks good. It is in the gel. Has issues but they are minimal. Price is about $10k high, IMO. Has done LOTS of sitting. Owner is a used car dealer/salesman. It needs some work unlike description. I can give more info if anyone is interested. 62hrs on starboard, 69hrs on port.

Did he drive around in circles, or did he blow one at around 6 hours?

Just means he ran one battery more then the other. The hour meters are bs. They really only tell the hours of the battery, not the motor. Hour meters go as long as the battery is on not the motor.Atleast with mine the hours keep ticking with out motors running.

If you have a boat with twin screws you could save hours/fuel and wear on the motors/drives by only using one of them when not needed like in and out of the marina/ no wake zones. If you choose to do this, alternating between them to even out the hours would be wise.

Your sh1t is wired wrong or you been smoking to much of that tree root again Keith! WTF would you want to monitor the battery for? It should be hooked into the ignition not constant power:eyecrazy:

In most cases, only 1 motor has all the accessories like p.steering pump and alternator. I know this from a friend that has had lots of mechanical problems on his twin powered carver. Its a real joy driving a big boat without power steering! :brickwall: The plus side is when the one would quit, we always made it back on the other!!!

Hour meter should be wired to the R-terminal on the alternator. That way it only reads if the engine is running and not if just the ignition or battery is turned on.

I'm gonna have to take a look at this I think the meter runs with the batterys. Hope I'm remembering wrong but I think mine does. Going to go turn on the batterys and watch the meter!:D

Keith, that might be a stressful job.....you better bring a 6 pack and some tunes!

YF, I'm not sure what shape the boat is in but asking 59K does not seem like a crazy #. What does it NADA at? What needs to be done to the boat?

NADA is $50k. It needs the sunpad vinyl replaced (badly sun burnt), external steering hoses are dry rotted (seeping), swim platform and aluminum step pads needs re powder coat (were repainted in single stage and look bad), bilge was very dirty, good cleaning and wax job, cabin was clean but had a very slight musty smell. Thats being overly picky but if your asking 9K over nada, it better be beyond perfect. The low hrs do justify a slightly higher price however it has not run in over 2 years and when I pulled the dipsticks, the oil was dirty raising the question of maintenance.

Not bashing the boat as it is a VERY nice boat. But I might just be more picky than most!!

yf you forgot to mention a pair of -2 shorties those drives are hanging way low could come up some
still super nice boat and if it actually does 78 with that motor setup i would be very impressed

LOL, it could also use prochargers @ 7psi:thumb:

I talked to Kip Combs for quite a while on Thursday about these hulls. I am really leaning towards a 303/320 for the ride quality. They are great performing hulls and handle way bigger water than I would ever run. With my back issues, I want overkill. Some might say that I should quit boating. Over my dead body will I quit. Its the only sport I can still enjoy and even if I was in a wheelchair, I would still go boating:surf:

My goal is to have a boat that can run 90+ with mild motors that have boost to them. Something that is turn key reliable. I figure building 650hp motors like Nick has in his 24 should do the trick with a total of 1300hp:eyecrazy:. With that being said, the 454 mag motor is a great base for this platform. Plus there is a ton of used headers, heads, and procharger setups out there for these motors to save there as well :D

well put sir
i think that 650 per side is a reasonably reliable setup i figure im somewhere in that range with my setup with a little more motor and a little less boost and i run similar speed numbers i would think the extra weight of the twins would make the boat ride a lot nicer than a similar sized boat with a single just wait until you have to put gas in it versus a single i can almost get a gallon a mile at cruise speeds i did a local poker run a few weeks ago it was 95 miles and i ran through 125 gallons of fuel and i have to buy premium on the water expensive day
