Pulled the trigger!

Brian, if it makes you feel any better your not the only one!

I drove all the way to southern Alabama once to buy a Chevy Nomad. Car was totally miss represented! Drove all they way back home empty handed.:pissed:

Hey, sorry about your luck Brian. Just keep looking, and don't forget, you don't choose your boat, your boat chooses you. This one didn't choose you... nothing you can do about that.

YF, sorry things didn't work out but it's better then buying a money pit pos. Post some pixs of the boat if you get time.

Cheers-

It sounds like you've got a support group on its way. LOL! If I was closer I'd stop by with a cooler of cold ones for ya too.

Well it looks like this con artist is not going to send the money back as promised. The guy is a total sack of **** and my next call it to the lawyer to see if I can get the deposit back. I guess the pics he sent are from when he bought the boat in 2009 because it is no where near the condition of the boat now. I went through paypal but we will see what happens. I will get a hold of my bank tomorrow also and see what they can do as well.

All I can hope is this **** does not con another person with this death trap of a boat.

That really sucks Brian I hope you find something really nice and I hope the guy sends you back your deposit .... That is Really B/S

I was pissed when I drove across town to see a BMW 735 that the guy assured me the paint and interior was good. When I got there the paint had huge rusty scratches all the down to the bare metal, and the leather interior was all ripped up. I can only imagine how bad it would suck to drive 18.5 hours to discover the same problems.

The advantage of having this forum is I will post a buyer beware of the boat. If anyone google's the boat, the info will come up and it will keep someone else from getting screwed by this joker. I don't really care at this point...

Hey man, I delt with paypal over the transport of my 21 Superboat. They guy wouldn't give me my deposit back when I decided to go and get it myself after talking to him on the phone and getting a bad vibe. It was alot of money- 1K.

Paypal was absolutely no help, but my credit card company was (I paid with a credit card). They gave me the money back immediately and went after his ass. Not sure how it all turned out on his end (hope he got screwed.. karma is a beotch!).

Just a thought...

actually, now that you say that.....when we were down at cumberland this year i was charged twice on my debit card for a hotel room, called my bank and they reinbursed the funds right then and fought it out with the hotel after the fact! good thinking nick:thumb:

I've had trouble with Paypal in the past in that it seems in the fine print they don't actually guarantee the transaction unless it's thru Ebay. Their communications on the matter did more harm than good. Very frustrating, but a cheap lesson, in my case. They may pay more attention to you though if you bring up the "fraud" word, which would seem to be the case. Good luck!

My experience with Papal has been the same as ndaniels' was. If you pay with a CC you'll be able to get them to do something but usually paypal is useless.
