Enchanter/Starflight floor rail?

I have seen some pics of folks who have what looks like a long stainless grab rail installed on the floor right about at your feet when sitting in the driver's seat. It seems like it will hold crap up in the bow in place relatively well when underway. Anyone have one of these? If so, what is the length? Also, if one was to install this, how do you determine where the floor ends and hull begins at this point on the floor (basically right under the dash)? Thanks!!

I have this rail on my exciter and yes it does help to hold crap from flying at you from under the bow, I suppose the length would depend on the width of your floor at that point, there is about 8 t0 10 inches of space on either side of the rail so there is no worry of contacting the hull with shorter than 15 inch screws.

I've also seen people install a 3"-4" tall "bungee" cord type netting that stops stuff from sliding into the cockpit. It would just anchor on the sides.

Good luck-

My guess is that they were installed to keep the vinyl cushions to stop sliding out. Yes they are very useful with the vinyl pads out of the bow.

Kinda funny, I never even thought about it and just figured it was something to brace my feet against when my stunt driver ( Wife!) was at the helm.:):)

I had a stunt driver too, The problem was once she was in the seat it was hard to remove her from that seat. She was good for about 60-65 mph. She was learning how trim out and raise the jack a little by little, but never enough to break the hull free So I had to reach around her to re-set the trim/jack. Once the boat freed up and started to fly, she'd yell that's good enough, that's good enough, THAT'S GOOD ENOUGH!!!!! Oh yea, I always had at least one eye on the direction she had us going too.

And I like to add I'd put her up against about 90% of the men here when it came to backing the trailer up at the ramp. ( if she's not at 90% backing the trailer up, I know she was at 100% better looking backing it up then guys here.)

I have a 1979 Enchanter and our floor rail goes all the way across. It is nice, we don't have to worry about things (life vest, rope, etc.) sliding out while we are driving.
