    Not Worth It I have heard of it being done but you take a big chance on scratching the prop-shaft where the seal rides. If you look up the specs I believe that the carrier nut is supposed to be tightened in excess of 200 ft lb's so even if you get the old ring out (after probably destroying it...

    Mercury Outboard ??

    Non-E Fuel The non-ethanol gas at my marina is $ 4.65 a gallon but that seems pretty cheap compared to a rebuild. I normally run 93 octane E10 with the blue marine Stabil but for storage would go with the good stuff for peace of mind.

    Pump 93 I had Tite heads on my old 2.4 200 that were 145 lb's and it ran fine with good pump gas.

    Fun Boat Sporty, my Sportsfire had a 135 on it when I purchased it in 2007 but I upgraded to a 200 soon after. Needless to say it was a bit more peppy with the 200 but the 135 did push it into the 50's. They make a good water sports boat but in my experience are harder to drive at speed than...

    predictor vs sportfire

    They Are Different The Sportsfire is actually 16' 7'' The Predictor is 16' 6'' The Sportsfire also has more beam. If you want to go fast the Predictor is the better choice.

    Safty On any boat that exceeds 65 to 75 mph they are a safty item. All the performance Black motors come with solids for a reason.

    The Good Stuff I just asked a friend that has been doing custom paint work for over 40 years and he recommended either Awlgrip or Imron for durability.
