It's Merc245 checking in, After about a month and half of yard work. I was able to put the 20 odd hours (most wet sanding and buffing what little gel coat I have left) at getting the starflite up and running.Went for the shake down ride Friday. Today Sunday I'm going over to Canada for a few cold ones at Duffys.

This year I pick up a fresher cowl and skirt(a 92 didn't come with one) the cowl is off a 225 so I'm now hiding 20 hp.The lower unit polish job is still a work in progress.Thats about all the improvements added.

On a sadder note, My Mechanic of 13 yrs retired and moved away over the winter. He's the One that was able to order me two new powerheads thru the Insurance company when they blew. He use to race mercs 2.5 on a Cat.So He always had a soft spot for my starflite. I was always last in But firstone out of his shop.Joe you'll be sadly missed.

P.S.I still have the Floaty and its cleaned up and ready to go toooo!!!!!

P.S. HOw do I post full size pics. I have these pics over on my gallery but don't know how to bring them over at full size?

Wait, they do show up in your gallery. Just go to user gallerys for merc245 and all your pics are there. When you click on a pic it will get larger and show the codes you need at the bottom.

Then you can insert them like any other time.

looking great man. i want a new cowl as well but cant justify dropping 4-500 bucks on it. i would really like to have a bridgport cowl.

Thanks illMATTic, I had to have a "fresher one" Mine had the stickers almost faded white and I backed into the corner my garage and tore off a bunge tie down. It truely looked like hell.Yea! about the price I "got lucky" and found someone selling just the bucket for $300 and I drove to Louisville to pick up.

Have u ever thought about comming down to Lake St.Clair for a jobbienooner on Friday june 23 out at gull island. Its only a 20 minute straight across the northern side of the lake from the metropark at foot of metropark way (16 mile rd.) merc245:sssh:

Someone mentioned having a soft spot for this boat..............I have a spot for this boat but it's not soft!!!!! VERY SHARP BOAT WITH CLEAN LINES.

Boston, I can't tell u if the colors are special order or not but Coop says, He can remember the boat coming down the line back in 92'.

The boat really takes good pictures.I've beat on this thing pretty good over the years. If and when I step up to that Conviner or ZT this one will have to be let go cheap. But until then I'll just keep it over 60 mph everything better over 60.:surf:

have you ever been to the jobbienooner? I have always wanted to go check that out. How long does it take you to get out to gull island? -shane

Trailer the boat to the metro park at the end of 16 mile (metro parkway) its about 10 minutes off I-94 and its about 20 minute boat ride across the north end of St. Clair.

I went a couple of years ago and plan on being there this friday.:cheers
