BIG News Coming Soon.....

If you find red rub rail, please post where you get it from.

Checkmate told me that red is not available, that when it was manufactured back around 2005-2010 is was not color stabilized like it was supposed to be so they all discoloured in the sun:yell: They said Taco is the manufacturer now and they don’t do red.

Yes, Taco is the manufacturer. I haven't inquired to see if they still have the red rub rail insert. If not, I can easily use black or artic white.

I haven't dropped it in the water yet to check the speedo. From what I've been told, the speedo works off of the water pressure sensor. The SmartCraft directions stated that if you're running a multi engine boat with SmartCraft gauges a GPS antenna must be used for trolling applications..Maybe I'll get a chance to run her this Sunday to tinker with the new data...
I have worked on the smartcraft stuff, the speedo has a separate tube connection from the water pressure, like a bravo drive type.

Got all my Mercury SmartCraft linked gages installed! I think I’m going to install a Garmin Echomap Chirp 44 chart plotter to the right side of my dash so I can link the Internal GPS antennae to my SmartCraft Speedometer using the
NEMA 0183 compatibility. It’s a 4.3” color screen that is easily removable for safe storage that will also act as a depth/fish finder.

Since I still have a right hand Bravo One FS 28, I think I'll try running it on my Pulsare 2400/Verado Pro 300. Using Mercury's Prop Slip Calculator; if I can spin it at the lower max rpm range of 5800 with a 1.75 gear case and use a 16% slip ratio, the theoretical speed would be 74 mph. If you drop the slip ratio to 14% it would be 76 mph...

My Bravo I FS likes to be run really, really high...which helps get the RPM's up there. I'm interested to see if your 300 can turn that bad boy effectively. That's a big wheel.

Me too. I may have to tap and plug another hole or two on my gearcase gills to raise the motor higher!

Just finished the last addition to my Pulsare 2400 Bowrider dashboard. A brand new Ritchie dash mount Explorer compass! Too bad no one makes a 3" anodized bezel..:irked:

The Last or The Latest? I replaced mine a season or two ago. When I purchased my ZT the compass had no fluid in it. I must of lost my mind, taking about a season and half to realize there should be fluid there. Now it holds rock steady, I enjoy using it a few times a year crossing the big lakes up here. And also, it’s the only gage or dial not bezeled .

Yeah, my old compass had no fluid and the white plastic had yellowed. It was looking out of place now that all my gages are brand new. Yesterday I replaced all 4 trailer tires with Goodyear Endurance tires! They weren't cheap! $511.00 mounted.....I still need to replace my faded red rubrail...
