Wow, yet another great thread I lost track of in the last couple months, apparently I need to stop changing PC's and e-mail addresses ---- then again I may just need to cut down on the brownies :sssh: :D

Will, your MX came out amazing, definitely need to see her in botm nominations in the upcoming months.

Almost makes me want to restore another Chcekmate. ALMOST.

thank you every one for the great comments . It took 3 long years to get this poor boat to look like it does. My dad and Sammie really made all this possible. I couldnt have done this with out them . There are still a few more things that need to be done this summer and ill post up those up for you all to enjoy ...

also I would like to thank every one who voted my boat as boat of the month for April 2014. That really means alot . Also makes me feel good to know all the hard work that Sammie and my dad and I put into this little Vmate didnt go un noticed . Again as we put the finishing touches on her I will be sure to post them up . Than when she is complete ill have Robbie or Chris clean up this thread and lock it out and archive it in the restoration section .again every one thank you so much and im glad every one enjoyed this restoration and followed along with us as she was reborn . It Truely was a adventure ....

Keep saving these old Checkmates and keep the restoration threads coming ..... Will

Here is a link to the only thread I use for covers. It will last forever. Polyester thread will last about 10 years, or 5 in the direct sun. It does add cost though. An 8 once spool is $90. Another consideration is to check with your paint manufacturer. Sunbrella is a great product, but it can take the finish off some paints as it moves with the wind. This is the case with Awlgrip. I'm making a cover for my MX (when I get all my spring chores done, #@**^! ) I'm planning to back the Sunbrella with a soft side fabric where it will rub against the boat. Just a thought.

P.S. Your boat looks great !
