Thats wrong Checkmate started counting the bolted on swim platform as footage.
The new 300 is made from the old 28 mold. The 242 turned into the 260 the real question here is what year did this happen.
I know in 96 the platform was not counted as footage. I am thinking this happened around 98 maybe

As I stated in previous post the bolted on platform has nothing to do with it. Early Checkmate Convincors that had a bolted on platform, the platform was not considered footage. Some years between 98-2002 Checkmate started counting the swim platform as footage. Because thats what other boat companies started doing.

BR and others, i am pretty sure the model number will tell you if the swim platform is counted in the length or not, as BR mentioned the 242 became the 260.
Well if you have a Convincor 270 or 300 than the platform is counted with an asterisk (*=Length overall including swim platform). If you have a 253, 259, 283... then the swim platform is not counted in the length.
Also, I am pretty sure the true LOA of the 253 and the 259 is the same and they are 25'3" not counting the platform and about 27'2" with. The hull on the 253 and 259 are the same, but the deck is different. Someone please tell me if I am wrong about this.

You better rethink that answer it will be 25 from tip of bow to the back of the boat. Or 25 from tip of bow to end of swim platform. It all depends on what year they decided to count the swim platform as footage.
A 96 242 the paper work says 24 foot 2 inches. The same exact boat in 2003 was called a 260 and the paper work says 26 foot.
Best thing to do is measure it then look at the paperwork

The original Convincor 251' model started in 82ish has an OB model and the following year with an IO. It had a very narrow beam of 90" and was a very fast hull. This model has a very distinct blunt nose. The next update was in the late 80s (87-88) with the introduction of the Convincor GTX. I believe this was just a new deck on the same 251' hull. The boat was still 25'1" and a 90" beam. This 251' GTX was also returned as the Convincor 251' Classic in the early 90s for a few years with updated interior and graphics.
The Convicor 253' was introduced in the early 90s (maybe 92-93) It is listed has 25' 3" and a wider beam of 99". The deck was also retooled and the nose is pointed like the current Convincor model.
The Convincor 259' was introduced around 2000 and had a 103" beam. And a few years later Cm followed the industry standard and included the swim platform and the model became the Convincor 270.
Kip knows a lot more then I do about the heritage of the this model......maybe he can chime in.

253 and 259 are different boats. The 259, and 270 are the same with just the name changed.
I don't know what rule or loophole they used to change the lenth. But I do know to certify them for the EU, they measure from nose to transom, even if your swim platform is molded on. So the ZT's end up shorter in the stats.
