2006 Checkmate Poker Run/Regatta

DARN!

Recently found out the in-laws 50th anniv. will be celebrated that day. Oh well! Hope the water is good and the funis cool. Have a great ride ya'll! Maybe next year will be conducive to the situation.

I just got back from a 2-day visit to put-in-bay, wow what a party! We went to cedar point on saturday, about 6pm we left the park and hoped on the miller ferry and then rented a golf cart and pitched a tent at the state park. This place goes from a tourist attraction to mardi gras when night comes. We had a blast and made it to 5 bars before they started closing. All live bands, lots of big boats, and a heck of a good time, i even got to meet jim morrison! Anyway, if anyone is into having fun this place would be great to go to on saturday night of the poker run. -shane

I'm glad you had a good time, Hope others find thier way over to the Islands by boat or ferry. Its a good time any day of the week at PIB.

OK, just wanted to check on how this is coming along. Is there going to be a bunch of boats. And does anyone have room for me on their boat?

Update regarding the Checkmate Poker Run/Regatta being held on July 15, 2006. All registration packets have been sent out: packets to those that requested them and also to those who attended last year. If you did not receive a registration packet and would like to attend, please e-mail us at TracyMlls@cs.com ASAP. We need to let Lyman Harbor know a count of people who are attending the poker run (for a food count) so please get your registrations in by July 4th or at least e-mail us to let us know you are attending. Thanks!!

Hello, was wondering when info being sent on time of events ? & can you set up overnight slips or do I contact marina? Any info appreciated Thanks Kevin

Agenda for poker run/regatta: On Friday, July 14th Checkmate will once again have an open house. Doors will open at 10:00 a.m. with a cookout at noon provided by Checkmate and C-Hawk Trailers. Friday night meeting at Jumpin' Jupiters (at Lyman Harbor) for cocktails and music. On Saturday, July 15th, registration begins at 7:00 a.m. at Lyman Harbor with breakfast being provided. Driver's meeting will then begin at 10:00 a.m. The remainder of the agenda will be provided in your packets that you will receive upon registration Saturday morning.

Talked to Lyman Harbor this weekend regarding overnight dockage. They are charging $10 a night for overnight dockage. Water and electric are not provided but they do have showers available. You can contact Lyman Harbor directly regarding overnight dockage. Their phone number is (419) 62-LYMAN. (Speak to either Suzi or Christina.) Both Friday night and Saturday night we will have free admission to Jumpin Jupiter (Lyman Harbor nightclub), which will be reserving the upstairs balcony for the poker run participants. Wanted to also remind you about the cookout that Checkmate and C-Hawk Trailers will be sponsoring at Checkmate Performance Boats in Bucyrus, Ohio. Checkmate open house starts at 10:00 a.m. and lunch will be served at noon. Hope to see you there! If you are planning on attending the poker run on Saturday and have not turned in your registration yet, please send us an e-mail and let us know you are attending. Thanks! And everyone pray for good weather on Saturday!

Hello, contacted Lyman & was told 22 slips reserved & no advance reservations required for overnite, but slips $1.40 foot.Maybe that was power/water ? Cannot wait & weather looking ok. See everyone soon & cookout sounds like a good idea-we will be there. How many boats signed up & where is everyone coming from ? Kevin

When asking about dockage, you may have spoken to someone other than the special events coordinator at Lyman. She told us this past Saturday that overnight dockage would be $10 per boat per night, so we are going to hold them to that quote. If anyone is charged more than $10 per night, please let us know on Saturday and we will get it rectified. Keep praying for good weather for Saturday!!

Guys,

I plan to put together a special gallery category for the pictures from this event.

For anyone who takes pics, please contact me after the event so we can make arrangements to get the images uploaded to the gallery. :)

We're leaving Thursday night. Plan on being at the factory Friday for lunch. Weather looks like it will be nice. Better than the rain we ran in last year.

Have fun, hopefully this event keeps growing and NEXT year we can make it.
Are heading other direction to VT for my brother's wedding Friday. Wishing you great weather and a safe time for all !!
