2007 Checkmate Poker Run

First off, we would like to apologize for the delay in posting information. We have encountered several circumstances that have delayed the scheduling of this event. But here it is. . . .the long-awaited information regarding the 2007 Checkmate Poker Run/Regatta. The event this year is going to be held at Lyman Harbor on Saturday, August 4th. We changed the date this year to coincide with another event we have scheduled. On Friday, August 3rd Checkmate Marine and C-Hawk Trailers will be having a Customer Appreciation Day at Checkmate in Bucyrus, Ohio. There will be sponsors, door prizes, and food. Watch for more information on this event in future postings. If you attended last year's poker run, you will be receiving an informational packet in the mail. If you did not attend last year but are interested in attending this year, please e-mail your name and address to info@c-hawktrailers.com. We will send a packet out to you as soon as we receive your e-mail. We would like to apologize again for the short notice, but we hope that everyone will be able to attend these two fun-filled events.

Tour the facilaties, see new product, food ,prizes, plus a repair demonstration. No reservations required just show up between 8:00 AM - 11:00 AM to make sure you are involved in the prizes & demonstrations. Lunch will be served around NOON.

My brother and I will be up for the Cmate Poker Run. We hope to see a bunch of you guys there! Anyone else commit yet? Lets hope for a good turn out.

SCT, I've said this over many times. If at all possible take a extra day and hit the Islands. Kelly's Island, It might be a card stop. But you must make your way over Put-In Bay Island. In your monster you can scoot over to Put-In-Bay in 20/25 minutes. Stay the day or overnite. If you travel all this way you have to enjoy the Great Lakes. Your boat was made to run in this water. I'd pay just to watch you go by at 75+:surf:

P.S. Cedar Point, the finest amusment park in the world is only across the bay from lymans marina too!

Planning on it. What time Thursday you leaving ? Thought it would be nice to be on road late afternoon.
Really looking forward to seeing the area. Hoping to stay a little longer to enjoy all that it has to offer.

Wife gets home around 4:00PM, leave around 5-6:00 PM, drive till Midnight, puts me just into Ohio. Wake up, eat and leave motel by 9:00 AM, I can be in Bucyrus by lunch.

Is there safe storage for boat at any of the hotels if we pull in midnight Thursday ?
Looking for something nice, will be our wedding anniversary get-away. Waterfront could be nice.

Mapquest says 6 hrs. for me. How long does it normally take you/ what speeds you towing at ? Takes me 4.5 hrs. to Cleveland.

Hi all,
i just e-mailed for the inf. packet. I would like to try and make this event. I still need to purchase a trailer though. I haven't had any luck finding used so I requested pricing from C-Hawk. We'll see what happens.

Seems like it would be a good time! Any idea how long a trip from Portsmouth, NH area?

6 Hrs is about right depending on traffic and road construction. I usually tow about 60-65 MPH.
Some people have kept their boats right at Lyman Harbor. Lyman has a gate. They may let you keep it there.

The last couple of years, I've splashed the boat Friday Night. You should do the same. Splash it, and keep it at the Marina.

I believe this is what alot of people do.

It definitely would be a haul from NH, however two years ago Big Dave came from Texas, and another owner came from Arkansas.
If you’re coming, I would suggest that you take an additional couple day off and enjoy Kelly’s Island.

The Poker Run stopped there last year, and it was a blast.

I've met a lot of good people at this event. I would have to say that of all the poker runs I've been in, this is the friendliest one by far. :bigthumb: :bigthumb:

I alway look forward to the factory tour each year.
