2014 Dodge 1500 Eco Diesel

Yeah. Right now I have three vehicles in my garage: wife's 02 Tahoe, My 12 CTS AWD (for work) and my 98 Diesel Suburban for play. Between my CTS and the Burb, I put on about 35,000 miles a year. The Ram would get better mileage than my CTS and I could still tow the Fishin' Boat (20' Alumacraft), which weighs about twice as much as my Checkmate, haul the Fam, go hunting. Plus the interior of the Ram kicks the hell outta my CTS. FWIW, I have never been so underwhelmed by a vehicle as the 2012 Cadillac CTS AWD. Big time buyers remorse. Big time. I could sell the other two vehicles and get the third stall of my garage back. That would be awesome.

The Ram Eco Diesel looks legit.

I just sold off a 2010 all wheel drive CTS sport wagon...probably the most disappointing and certainly one of the more uncomfortable vehicles I've owned. I got into the white 2012 Ram shown in the trailering section, but that had issues dealer created (long story) so I traded that one in 3 days after taking delivery and am now into a 2014 Laramie...not the Eco diesel though. This Laramie is by far much more vehicle than the CTS could ever be. Since my commute to work is about 1.75 kilometres...going diesel would not have been a good thing for the engine.

Good luck with yours !

Same here Chris!! My current 2011 Hemi Ram came with spray in bedliner, i love it, so much nicer than the cheap plastic drop in bedliner that i put in my old 2004 Ram!!
Hi CF,

The funny thing is that I always had the plastic bed liners in my trucks and really didn't want the spray in stuff. I guess my perception was that the plastic would protect the bed better from dents and I figured the spray in stuff would get scraped off and peel. Typically I prefer to buy my trucks off the lot and on the day I bought my current one, the truck I liked best had the spray in liner. I actually asked if they had the same truck without it, but they didn't.

Now after having the spray in liner, I'd never go back. :thumb:

I've had both types of liners and the spray in is far superior in most cases. The plastic always vibrates against the bed which strips paint from bed floor and can cause rust over time. My current truck has plastic, it was already in there when I bought it and I'm too cheap to replace it. I had one with spray that was heavily worked before I bought it and it had gouges and scrapes but those are easily filled with weather strip adhesive to hide them.
A tool rental company I used to work for only used plastic. It makes sliding large items easier for loading and unloading.

My truck had a spray in liner when I bought it. I like how tough it is but did not like kneeling on it under my canopy, so I got a bedrug to go on top of the liner. Best thing ever, $100 or so and I will toss it out and get another if it gets too dirty or damaged to clean.
Not sure how protected from scratching and rust the bed would be with only the bedrug, but I think it would be fine if you vacuum or wash out any rocks trapped under it once in a while.

Took delivery today...

...Bitter Sweet moment. The trucks is awesome, but Enterprise Fleet Management screwed the pooch and didn't add Air Suspension to the build. :brickwall: I ordered this truck for two reasons: the diesel and the air suspension and they were both tied for #1 on the wish list. I picked the truck up after 5 tonight so the fleet services office was closed. I'll rattler their cage in the morning. I blame them and myself as I signed off on the order sheet. I'll find out tomorrow if I screwed up or they did.

In the mean time, I installed my Weather Tech floor liners front and rear and my Weather tech mud flaps front and rear. I ordered the Weathertech Bug Shield, but it's inferior and will be going back. A new thread with Pics will be coming soon.

I bought the Weathertech front floor mats for mine, they work great, especially with the snow and salt in the winter. :thumb:

It was my fault. It was never on the build sheet and I didn't catch it. Live and learn. Put 300 miles on so far, waiting on Bed Rails and Bug Deflector and I'll start the new thread. Totally awesome truck. Wind affects mileage significantly. Made 27 mpg with a tail wind at 78mph. That's what I'm talkin' about!
