540 freshin up "I hope"

That looks very similar to mine. Mine are considered 18" but I think that includes the total length with the bend. You shouldn't have too many issues at all with reversion being Bob is spec'ing it out. He knows his stuff. I will be calling him again in the spring.

A freind with a big bad ass boat with twins had it and let me have it for free
I think it cost allot.
It did not jump out of the hole like the lazer but feels like a 2 stroke after 3000 rpm .BIG BITE :bigthumb:

Well a friend with a big bad ass single engine boat needs 9 MPH so see if he has the other one. Lol

If it is a bravo just run it in reverse......it won't hurt the drive at all. That is how bravo's are set up to counter rotate.....the shift cable for one drive is just hooked up backwards in the shifter. Torquing a prop the different way may change the balance of the boat.....may improve or hinder. Single engine fountains use LH rotation props....takes the squirleyness out of them.

You are more than welcome to try it. I think it would help your hot rod allot.
He has the other one but you would have to spin the motor backwards :brickwall:

Mine has the big prop shaft so I don't know if it would work.

Anyway I just need to get my act together and have one built for it. My toy budget lately has been cut short due to buying cribs, and changing tables and diapers and strollers, and, and, and, and, etc.

mmmmmmmmmmmm sounds like i should try both. Will you be wearing on differant parts in the out drive? I would think reverse would be fresh

You could always sell the kid for parts money. :poke:I heard there is a big black market for babies.

No, you will just be putting torque on the back sides of the teeth versus the front. On twin setups, quite a few recommend for even drive wear to swap sides on your outdrives every year. There is no such thing as a counter-rotational bravo unlike the old TR/TRS.....they are all the same...only thing that is changed is shift linkage hookup.

Just a small update .
The crank was fine and is being polished . The bore is straight. Heads are cleaned and checked and all was fine. They are on their way back now. I will be porting the short side and around the valves to increase flow. Will do pics and stuff on that next. :bigthumb:

Yep and just as many that figure changing the rotation on an already worn in set makes them let go sooner. Bravos are stronger not counter rotating unless you have a beefed up top cap.
Sling blade cool project btw love that boat

Yep.....heard that too. Just like people swear against rotating tires and swapping sides with them rotating a different direction screws with the cords. There are always conflicting theories no matter what the subject.:bigthumb::cheers:

So here is the problem.
just got off the phone with Bob about the cam .
With my pistons and heads I guess that I have the perfect motor for a blower. With the cubic inches it needs to be a m3 procharger or 10-71 blower. Its more money than I want to spend but I think it would be allot of fun. I think the out drive will be fine if I treat it well.
Also the machine shop called and the heads have Manely severe duty SS valves. and the exhaust valves are thero coated .
I will be shopping blowers. If I can find good clean stuff I might go used.
If you know of any let me know..

What a problem to have, lol, love this build thread.

Guess your daughter is only getting $2k...:D
Yes daddy is getting a supercharger
Looks like a m3 procharger is going to be the way to go.
The car money is just about what this build is going to cost.
I like it when a plan works out.
Procharger has a sale going on till end of year.
the m3 intercooled kit is $5499 I have installed many Procharger kits on cars and have always been happy with the results.
.

Ok . back on the" FRESH'IN UP"
We got the block back . All was fine . It got a good hot bath, checked for cracks, new cam bearings , The line bore was checked and was right on. The block had been squared and is .012 in the hole on the pistons. Piston to wall clearance in .007 . I had the crank polished . Cylinders are round and straight.

the crank

I will wait till this weekend to assemble the crank and pistons .

You are more than welcome to try it. :poke: maybe a baby shower gift?

LOL the only baby shower gift that would be worth having!

I appreciate it, and I would try it but I don't know what I would have to do to it to make it fit the big shaft.

Anyway back to the build, that thing is gonna fly!!!
Does that boat have a pad?
