540 freshin up "I hope"

Hey sling blade put the motor in the boat and take it to shogren they have a prop shaft dyno. You can tune it right in the boat.
I was thinking about your exhaust, you may want to think about upgrading. Being that you have 4" and the fact that you are going to boost your large cubic inch motor you might want to consider some 4.5" or 5" dry stuff in your situation it's probably good for a few ponies

Maybe next year on the exhaust. but the dyno sounds great . After having a chassis dyno I know that is the best way to go. The HP #s will be lower than engine dyno but they will be real numbers and can be tuned in a real world application :thumb:
That would be a great place to take it. They have a Black checkmate I have been dying to see. Not sure about a black boat but I would like to see that model in person.

Joe's back at it . After ball honing .And some clean up,and some more clean up. We are ready to install some parts. Next step File fit the rings .

O yey The Procharger M3 duel carb set up is on the way:bounce::bounce:

You now I haven't gave it much thought. Bob is back in town and is working some head combo's for me. I would say 800 should be close. I went with the duel carb set up because the biggest problem is flowing enough fuel through the double needle and seat required in the carbs. with 2 this is no problem. Also It's just cooler

Jeff,

Got it! I will go to work on a build sheet for the engine. We welcome the opportunity to assist you in the success of your project.

Regards,

Bob Madara

Should have a better idea where I will be after I get the "build sheet" .
I need to file the rings but have held off to see if there is something I need to do different because of marine use. The ring end gap for a street Moderate/turbo is .0050 min per inch of bore.
Blown race only is .0060 min per inch of bore.
I have always done the Nitrous motors @.0070 and have had good luck.
I was thinking The .0050 should be fine . Any thoughts? I have e mailed bob for his input ,so we will see.
We will be going with AFR heads from Marine Kinetics.

What kind of dual carb setup?
Does the tube from the procharger split?
Or is it all enclosed together?
Do you think you need to upgrade the exhaust manifolds?
You are going to be flowing a lot of air!!!

The exhaust is coming off of my boat this winter between the two sets you could make up one good set, I have cmi sportubes 4.5 dry with tails old style not the crappy ones on the 525

I also might be interested in those. I would like to go to full dry header setup if I can get them reasonably.

I have two complete sets one would need quite a bit more work than the other I offered the better set to sling blade. But if you're interested in the other get a hold of me I won't be pulling them out till probably january I called cmi to have new sets made and they were talking 20,000 with tails for the pair they tried to talk me into the new style sweepers but I haven't heard anything good about them so I'm going with gen3 stainless marine 4.5 dry. I'll be interested to see if I lose speed or not

file fit rings

I have the top ring filed to fit.on to the next set. (this part sucks but is a very important step) I went with .0055 per inch of bore. (from JE tech).

The Sony Cyber shot eat's up the battery :brickwall:
I have the crank and pistons in the block . I guess I am waiting on Marine Kinetics.
