A Checkmate still Racing

R you guys really surprised by this!! Come on take a good look at where the moneys at. Checkmate Boats are not known for a racing history of there buyer friendly priced larger boats. Reality check!! Yes they are great boats but not really a race boat, thats why you don't see to many. Congrats to the guys getting rigged in MD where we run in big water as the norm.

Yep lotta' big water here. Ive seen that boat. I live about 10 minutes away from Jaws Marine, and go past there quit often. They are having a 26' Joker Power boat built. Hopefully ready for 2011 season.

Maxed Out Motorsports retiring the Checkmate.....

Hello everyone,
Thanks for all the support and nice comments! We appreciate it all! Jim and I just wanted to come on and set the record straight with our Checkmate Community friends. It is true that we are building a new boat. Unfortunetly it is not a Checkmate. Our hull is a 1990 and had a great career in offshore racing. As all good things it has come to its limit of todays hull designs and manufactuer support. We did contact Checkmate before our season started and ask them if they would like to Sponsor us in any way shape or form. At that time the economy was at its worst and they pollitely said that they couldnt at that time. No problem!! We understood.
The decision came when we decided to take offshore racing to the next level. With todays hull designs and deeper V's we feel we need to step it up. Our competition is stepping it up and we want to be competetive at a higher level with less horsepower. Other than that reason the Checkmate was good start to our offshore career.

Thanks again and we hope to see everyone out on the water. Just because we arent going to run a Checkmate anymore, please still feel free to stop by my shop and our website to check in and say hello.

Thanks again!:thumb:
