Big Red...you know I....We.. Like them smillys Huh?!!!...Thankyou My wife will enjoy them!
Truth is.. I don't really understand how a wife couldn't like boating. It's GREAT family fun for the family, and then there's the times it's romantic and sexy for the adults. It's not all about horsepower and speed...mostly but not ALL!!! My whole family grew up around boats so I don't know any different, but could someone who's wife does NOT like boats or boating please explain to me what she does like to do, or does she not like it because you (the 2 of you)may have a bad relationship. I don't mean to get too personal but I am curious. I know there's tons of things to do with the family, but what are the reasons some wives don't enjoy boats?

Mine loves it to untill the throttle goes down, then she crawls in the cuddy cabin. She hates the feeling of the boat rocking at speeds. I thought she would have learned after being toss around last time she did it. Its a good thing the headliner has a cushion But thats good for me because I take the boat out with some freinds and hammer on it and she don't care.

My wife loves boating, the only time she didnt like boating is when illMATTic would run his Predictor over 70 mph. I would make her sit in the back seat and there were no handles, she thought she was going to die. I thought that was reasonable, but there was enough wind noise we couldnt hear her complain.

my ole lady just wants a bigger boat, i got a bayliner thats bigger but its a bowrider and its very slow. she was lookin over a starflight last year and she really wants somehin like that, along with myself i think i would be nice to have a little cabin to pass out in after too much beer and sun

Both

I'm extremely fortunate. My wife, son and I ski, boat and dive together.
The first thing my wife and I bought together 19 yrs ago was a boat-before we were even married. Had a few and then had none for 10 yrs.
Last spring we picked up a predictor. They loved boating but it was "too bumpy".
Wife pushed for something bigger so we got a Starliner. For Her.
Like I said-I'm extremely fortunate.

My girlfriend loves going boating!!:thumb: She even likes to drive the boat..but never goes more than 45 mph....that's ok, I get to relax and enjoy the scenery without watering my eyes!!;) Whenever I do top end runs, she's always leaning over to see how fast the speedeometer is reading!!!!!:bigthumb:And most of all, when we go boating at nighttime, she enjoys a little extra playtime in the Pulsare's Playpen!!!:cheers:eyecrazy::bounce::p

I've been working my GF to let me teach her how to drive, but I think I ruined that this weekend. Seems I got a little nervous on a speed run and chopped the throttle w/o trimming in first... OOPS! She didn't care for the results.

Oh well, back to jump street.

Its hard to get the wife out of the drivers seat when she decides its her turn. I have her understanding the trim and jack buttons. It takes some coaxing from me but she is comfortable into the low sixtys. And I'll put her ramp abilities against anyones."Playpen"I don't need no stinking playpen.:thumb:

Apparently you all have never seen MY reasoning on the subject. Truth be told, I wish I had a wife (and I'm currently working on it). But just for fun...here's a little list of "30 reasons why boats and better than women" that I made after I got divorced 4 years ago. Enjoy!

1. You can ride in a boat at any time of the month.
2. Boats don't have parents.
3. You can share your boat with friends.
4. If you boat's too loud, you can put a muffler on it.
5. If your boat smokes, you can do something about it.
6. If YOU smoke, your boat doesn't care.
7. Boats don't whine unless something is REALLY wrong. (or really RIGHT for you S/C guys)
8. Your boat doesn't care how many other boats you've been in.
9. Boats don't care if you look at other boats or buy boat magazines.
10. Boats don't care how many other boats you have.
11. If you boat's loose, you can tighten it up.
12. You can have a beer while riding in your boat.
13. You can have a (censored) boat and still show it to your parents.
14. You don't have to be jealous of the guy working on your boat.
15. If you say bad things to your boat, you don't have to beg for forgiveness before you can ride in it again.
16. You can drive your boat as hard, as fast, and as long as you want, and it won't get sore.
17. Your parents don't keep in touch with your old boats after you dump them.
18. Boats ALWAYS feel like going for a ride.
19. Your boat won't insult you if you're a bad driver.
20. Your boat never wants a night out alone with other boats.
21. Boats don't care if you're late.
22. You don't have to shower before you drive your boat.
23. Your boat's fine with being tied up.
24. If you don't like the way your boat looks, you can paint it and/or bolt on some new parts. (o.k. maybe there's some shared similarities here)
25. You can't get diseases from riding in other boats.
26. Boats last longer, and won't take half of your $hi+ when you get rid of them.
27. Your boat's curves will never sag.
28. Boats never get pregnant.
29. You can control your boat's speed and time of arrival.
30. Boats always like going fast.

i think that will be my new modo!!!!!!! i love it:lol::lol::cheers:cheers
oh yeah- you forgot that boats don't smell when they have gas!:cheers

its nice to have both

in my case, i built my boats so that my wife doesnt like to ride in them. she caught me having afair ride when i was banging my first love in the bay chop, and ide like to get that speech taking knee shaking smile making ride like that home in bed. the key to having both is all in the conditions when you take the wife for a boat ride, and the vessel ends up flying with the props exiting the water as your riding the trough in a good chop. i dont even want to ride with me sometimes. ill drink to that, and then ill drink to my drinking to that. i love my wife, but theres only one thing better, depending on the conditions that breed ammunition. :sssh: uh oh, she wants to go, i better go slow:D
