CHECKMATE OWNERS RALLY 2014

A little later than normal posting but here we go!

5th annual Checkmate Owners Rally. We will be heading out of Grider Hill as we have the past few years. I am going to try and get a monster slip (covered houseboat) that we can all raft up together. This will eliminate any issues with docks like there was last year. There is food, lodging, and fuel as well as houseboat rentals if anyone wanted to go that route. Any questions, message Dave or I and we will do what we can to assist you. If you have my number, call or text me for quicker answers :thumb:

There was also a lot of questions about shirts and next time I talk to Dean, I will ask about useage and copyright with the checkmate logo before I put the shirt idea out there!

Here is the plans
Friday 7/18/2014 ~ meet & greet raft up at Guffy Creek.
Saturday 7/19/2014 ~ 10am start. Stop at Conley bottom for lunch. Stop at Harmon Creek. Stop at Otter Falls. End at Guffy creek. Dinner at Grider Hill marina.
Sunday 7/20/2014 ~ Early morning run to Jamestown Marina for lunch before departing back to the daily grind

We have based the event from here

Keep in mind this is also open to any other brand of boat, if you have friends.....bring em on down!

Well I might just have to find a dominator a d take off my mufflers to try to keep up!
I probably won't be running that fast yet. Probably won't be going after top speed until engine fully broke in, good hydro steering and some drive upgrades. But I encourage you to do those things anyways! I would like to have at least a single hyd steering ram on there by the rally. Depends on how many cost over-runs happen!

This is not far from me. Looking at upgrading to a Baja or checkmate. If not, I would have fun running my fast bayliner!

:welcome:to the forum. Stop by and say high if you're on the lake that weekend. All boats are welcome but caution there's some Baja haters here. :shakehead:

Whats wrong with Baja? Aren't they better than a checkmate? I know there are a lot of them and people I know that have them like them. They would not be sold if they were junk!

There's a lot of strong opinions on them here. Maybe you should start a thread inquiring about that so this one doesn't get derailed.
I guess being a bayliner owner anything has to be better.
