Checkmates NEW 40 footer

Reunited

Ok...who is Denny Checkmate? Does Denny work for Checkmate??

I kept myself pretty low key here on the forum.

After many years with Doug Smith at Baja Boats, I aceppted the offer in MAY of 2010 to be reunited with Doug once again and assist Doug and Dean and take Checkmate Boats to build a new dealer and product development
progam such as we all did when we were together at Baja.

Those were good days. My boating history began with my involvement with Doug back in the middle ninteen eighties.

I left Baja a couple of months after the Brunswick-Sea Ray took over the company in 1995. Brunswick decided to bring their own people in from the Knoxville Sea Ray company to basicly run Baja. So It was time for a change in my life..
Quickly, I was hired by Powerquest Boats as their National Sales Manager and did some changes there to make it very sucessful with new dealers and new product like the 22 Razor, 280 Silencer, 300 Raptor, added stepped hulls and update the graphics designs.

Then in 2003, They also change ownerships and which was a huge mistake. Now you can see Powerquest is no more.

I spent a short time with Sunsation assisting them with new dealer development as their National Sales Manager along with lauching the 43 project. And then to Concept Boats.

My very first boat was a new 1979 Checkmate 21 Enchanter w/200 Merc Black Max and mostly boated on the Chain O' lakes back then.

When your surrounded with a great team of proven people, you will form a soild bond. Knowing you must deliver the finest boat product for all present and future Checkmate dealers and loyal customers. Were all one team.
Now back to work !
Thanks everyone.
Denny

So ......Denny , i see your location is in western Mich and where might that be considering i live in Holland in the woods on the poor side of the street on Lake Mac . :rof: ;) :rof:

Denny thanks for the info... now break out some spy pics!! LOL but seriously would it be to much to ask Checkmate to share with the members here a you tube video of a boat test of any of there new boats from time to time. i guess most boats are water tested weather permitting . seem like a free way to get the new boats exposed to thousands of people that check in on this web site weekly. Thanks and best wishes to you and Checkmate moving forward. here is an example of something Checkmate could do with there new models http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iRfZgvbwfqI

good point on the 40 but maybe the checkmate factory will show some other new boats heading into spring. ,

Denny, I know you want to keep things hush hush and all. But Checkmate could have at least gave up a rendering that looked like a boat. Even if it was a different boat. The rendering released, was almost insulting in how bad it was. I can't believe it actually got sent to magazines too.

I was just at Atlantic city boat show....checkmate dealer said its a 42 apache mold and the new 26 is a Baja mold lighter and faster. This was volunteered info I didn't pry. Cannot wait to see the finished products.

I'm excited to see both. The 26 with the motor options as the baja 26 should be nice.
The 40 hopefully will have a nice interior and power to go with it.

THE 26 IS ALL NEW FROM SCRATCH AND JUST BEGUN PRODUCTION HULL #1 and going to our dealer in Sorel-Tracy Quebec Canada.

As of February 8th there are eight new 2013 26's on the build list.
It is all Checkmate tooling and design.Deep hull sides and cockpit.
We expect it to be a high demand affortable trailerable boat for running in the roughest water conditions once the boat arrives to our dealers in late March.
