Delaware river - Sept 22

So when you were stopped and taking pics on the way back Sim, I stood that Starliner of mine straight on end and had to have the back a couple of feet in the air. Any chance you got a pic of that? I had to slow down and check my shorts for debris at that point.
I wish! If you'd like you can always post a picture of your shorts.

This photo cracks me up. You can see my daughter holding the phone to her ear.

For the previous ~20minutes when we were idling around (several others tried anchoring in the river in this time), I let her use it to listen to her favourite tunes (not my taste!) stored on it.
Then we started up on this run and I look left just after this photo is taken because I hear her talking.

I thought she had answered a call from someone she knew (i.e. her Mum?) while I was driving. Worried, I shouted to her "who is it?"

She puts her hand over the phone and says "nobody Dad, I'm only joking!".

I had to laugh. She's not 6 until November and she's winding me up like this already! :poke:

She was really cool on the beach while you guys were performing Sims plan of photo runs. I think she was enjoying the water with dad not there. good kid you have there.

Next time I am gonna let someone else drive and I will take pictures. I got home, pulled the camera out and looked at pics of the sky, water, front tips of boats and more water. Plus maybe it won't break another lower unit with someone else driving. Pics look great guys. Wish we would have been there to hang out. Always next year I guess if boat is back together then.

Sucks that it broke on ya. We were wondering where you went.
Yeah, we missed you. We were guessing that you were so much faster on the big water that you had overshot the turn in and didn't figure out we'd gone in for the smoother creek.
Thought you'd be pissed that we ditched ya.
How'd you make it back? How long and to where?

If you watch the video I posted, you see me pass him just north of the Besty Ross bridge around the 1:40 mark on the video. I think this is where it happened. That is a long ride at 8 mph to where he launched from:mad:

thing that sucks is i was a good aways up but turned around and went back when everyone stopped, i think i broke at the tacony bridge or a little above it. luckily for the other motor we were able to troll back. think it took about 2 hrs or so. just looked at it this morning and i think i broke due to someone tried to steal it off the boat. i had checked it two weeks ago since this was the lower i broke down on the chesapeake so i have been keeping an eye on it. all my nuts were tight and everything sounded and felt great. now one stud is missing in the rear along with one nut and the three others are loose. guessing i broke a drive shaft or something.

We be home!

Very slight bend on 2 blade tips. Looks like the prop shaft has a slight bend but won't know till I get it into service at the marina. No damage to the external part of the drive. I'm not that worried. When I hit it, I think I more so hit the vegetation and that wrapped around the prop causing a severe "out of round" shake in the boat. I really just kind of tapped over it but with the immediate vibration, I more so wanted to be safe and pull it out. :thumb:

All my fault:brickwall: I told everyone the sandbar was there, but didn't verify everyone heard me. Obviously a mistake on my party, since clearly Brian didn't hear me. Once I saw where he was heading there was nothing I could do! Thankfully you were only idling, although you may not have hit if you were on plane since the tide was still fairly high.

I feel bad for YF and Dave... I'm sure it was a miserable weekend for them. 12 hr ride in on Friday night with an arrival time of 2am, a not so nice hotel, terrible conditions for boating on Sat (especially with a bad back), running onto the sandbar and damaging his boat, leaving Sat night to head home and driving through a rain storm. I guess it was the "Jersey Jinx"

Sorry guys:o

Don't feel bad for use unless you caused the miserable conditions. The drive out did suck, the hotel was horrible and river was way too ruff. Fortunately the boat transfer from trailer to trailer was pulled off perfectly. by the time the day was ending I was just ready to head home. The hotel on the road saturday was nice and by leaving early we made it home with a little daylight left.

It would be nice if we could organize something at a midway point between all of us. I wish we had been able to hang out with everyone. We have fun online but it would be nice to sit aound and throw back a few cold ones. Maybe in the next season or 2 we can set up a midway meet.

Don't over do it Dave... I was only taking the blame for the "sandbar incident":D
