Four Winns Unlimited U-17 or U-19

The Four Winns "U" series is a splash of a Donzi Classic. Awesome boats, I was looking for one before I "saw the light" and got my Checkmate.

Now I remember that my neighbor had a red U 19 and everytime we came across each other out on the water he would want to run me.And each time I would have to spank him.His U 19 would run in the middle 60's to high 60's with good big water handling.

P.S. FREE KWAME FREE KWAME FREE KWAME FREE KWAME FREE KWAME

Ha I knew I would get crap for mentioning it. I really like the style of the Donzi classic and the Four winns unlimited. The only thing checkmate has in similiar styling with an inboard in my opinion is the Strobe and good luck finding one of those. Does your neighbor still have his U19?

I say Jail Kwame Jail Kwame Jail Kwame Jail Kwame Jail Kwame !!! What an embarassment!

You michiganites crack me up! Worked up there for 8 years doing road construction all over the state.

I had to do a search on that boat and see what they looked like. Very cool looking boat IMO. I have always been a fan of the Donzi's but checkmate is where its at....... at least when your poor like me:(

Allow me to personally thank you for our wonderful roads!!!!!

Don't think the boats are to bad..I had a liberator years ago....but most of those had cobra drives and parts for them....well can be a challange !!! Rob

One of our members Bruce had one of the 4 Winns Donzi splashes.

I don't remember which model he had to be honest, but if you send him a PM you could ask him.

Yup ..Bruce had the U17

Hi Farmass ... as Chris said, I had one for 2 years. I bought mine from a family in Michigan which took very very good care of it. I had the U17 with the Volvo 5.0 litre 220 hp fuel injected engine with the Volvo penta single prop (through prop exhaust) outdrive. The boat is a rocket with speeds at about 65 mph gps .. speedo would read over 70 +. It's very close to the Donzi's in a lot of ways but there are a few differences for sure.

I was very very pleased with mine... the only thing I found was that it was very difficult to do any work yourself since the engine takes up pretty well the entire spot. Things like changing spark plugs , belts etc are really difficult. As far as handling the waves etc..very good and it was actually better on gas than my old Checkmate with a 120 hp outboard. My heart is really with Checkmate so I decided to sell it at the end of 2007. I'm hoping to pick up a bargain on a 21 foot Pulsare with gas being the price it is.

I see some come up for sale from time to time .. depending where you live I would focus on the Michigan area since Four Winns resides there and there boating season is similar to ours here in Ontario. They were only available in 1996 and 1997 and the 1996's had the better engines so I'm told. The 1996's used the Ford 5.0 litre (Mustang) block where in 1997 they changed to the GM block that offered slightly less horsepower. They also come with the dual prop on the Volvo Penta..I have read that these offer a little more torque at the low end. The other huge plus was that the Four Winns trailer comes with a detachable tongue which is about 3-4 feet long so storing it in a garage is a breeze.

Price wise ..$8500.00 seems to be the going rate in the States

If you have any further questions send me a personal message and I'll give you a call if you like.

Bruce

Thanks Bruce! :)

You should post up some pics of your old 4 Winns on Endless Boating. :thumb:

If you want to do it, let me know and I'll create a 4 Winns Brand forum for ya.

Maybe I can talk JW into posting some pics of his old one as well.
