I just took a customers new 2007 2100 out today to break it in. After 3 hours we opened it up. It ran a little over 73 on Gps with two of us in it. As you can see by the pic, the Mercury speedo was a little optimistic. I took the pic with one hand while trying to drive with the other.

That is a Beautiful boat. Love the white and yellow. Do you have any other shots of it?
Why is it that speedometers can be so far off? You would think the manufactures could calabrate them to be more acurate. Whats the point of having a non-gps speedo if it just lies to you. Theres a big difference between 73mph and 83mph. Dont get me wrong 73 is scooting along quite nice

I have found that on stock speedo's, even the water temp. will can make them read higher or lower. It's hard to beat an in dash gps speedo! boatman

1997 242 with a 7.4 and 5lbs of boost from a procharger turning a labbed 28 bravo one gps was 70.9 with half a tank of gas me and wife in it and full of gear

1980 Predictor II
2003 Johnson 115 4stroke
26p SS prop.
No jack plate
Runs 55MPH (ish) no GPS...I think it does a little more with a tail wind, and I sit up straight...ha

Not too bad for a 115.

Was hoping to get some advice (eventually) on getting the bottom of the boat worked on (not doing it myself)...Gel/paint or whatever.

ok guys. I am new to this and need help, I have a 82 entertainer with the merc 260 (350 chevy) so i am told,, it also have a marage 23p 3 blade prop, i want to know about how many RPM's this should run, the most i can get out of it right now is 3000 to 3100.. rpm's.. help me or am i expecting to much from this? Of course i am wanting it to be fast, what else. LOL.. and yes i use it for tubing and skiing..

:welcome:

Merc says 4400 to 4800 wot
you should be able to pull a 23 to 41-4200 fairly easy
something else is wrong or prop is bad

prop is a high five. five bladed prop. not sure on pitch.

my big ass was in it 360 lbs

and my buddy.. 150lbs.

1980 Entertainer I/O, 260 hp Mercruiser ... quadrajet 4bbl carb. 60 mph GPS but it gets there in a big 'ole hurry. I have a Solas 21p aluminum prop. My stainless 21p prop was pretty banged up, but with it on I believe I might see 62-63 mph. I haven't tried running it with the windshield or bow tonneau cover on. Tonneau cover is dry rotted and I haven't had it remade.
