HOW FAST IS YOUR CHECKMATE? EVERYONE!

Nothing to brag about, 87 Starflite, 200hp Rude, 24p generic ss prop and lite on fuel, 64mph GPS and trimmed to the heavens

89 starliner w/ MAD EFI/ TAYLOR MARINE 3.6 GT V8. V6 lower unit, 6inch setback, 27p srx chopper, prop shaft c/l level with bottom of boat. With wife & kids---50mph. Any faster & my wife grabs a hand full of leg hair. Just me, 10 gallons of fuel 86 on gps. I have a 29p srx prop but I have blown the lower unit twice trying to get on plane with it. It chine walks at about 63 but if you gas-it you can drive right through.

'89 Convincor 251 - 454 mag w/ performance upgrades
(roller rockers/roller cam-hi perf intake and exhaust)
roughly 400 hp - 23p 3 blade SS prop - 67 mph gps
top speed - thats solo and low on fuel.:thumb:

Stock 350 260hp
Running 4400 rpm at full out
25p Mirage

Last year clocked on gps at 68mph. Looking to run better this year with completly rebuilt transom plate after roasting the bearings this spring.

TOO SLOW for me but it's still fun:

1987 Diplomat open bow
2006 4.3 I/O
23p SS Mirrage 3 blade
56 MPH @ 4800 RPM

I think I finally got my ECU's dialed in. I have a 2000 2100 Pulsare BR. I have 13 1/2" of setback. I run a warmed up 225EFI.(some Simon Motorsports upgrades) I spin a 25 Trophy Plus @ 6200rpms for a best max speed of 80.1mph GPS. I'm still prop testing to see where I hit my best topspeed. Hopefully I can report back in a week with better results.

Tried a 26 Trophy Plus, spun it it 6000 rpms for a new top speed of 80.4 mph GPS. Sent prop off to prop shop for clean and polish.

Stay tuned ! MAD EFI intake on the way. I'll throw in some carbon fiber reeds then. I optimistically hope for 83-84 by the time I get ECU's dialed in. :thumb:

My Spectra 170 BR with a Johnson 120hp got a whole 45mph gps @ 5600rpm, lol. At least she's easy on the gas! I'm hoping to get to 50+ after some small modifications.

still early in the season yet but the best i've seen is 63.7gps at 2inches prop shaft height but more to come!!!!!:bigthumb:

I'll keep this old thread going --- 26p trophy on the starliner w/ 1997 225 EFI - 8 people, not trimmed out much on a short lake - a searing 56mph on GPS. But it was as stable as a train. I think there could me more in it - my first tweaks will be to get at least 5 of those people out and see what that little toggle on the side of the throttle is for...

I,ve got a totally stock 87 Sportfire I/O with a 4L 205 M/C. Runs a solid 60 with 4 of us and a full tank. Running a standard aluminum prop but would like to put something else on any suggestions?

Which boat? I have 4. LOL 08 Pulsare 1850 w/115 E-tec, 6" setback runs 50.2 w/20" Raker. 08 Pulsare 2000 w/E-tec 225HO 6" setback runs 76.8 w/26" Raker II. 08 ZT 260 w/496HO runs 68.6 w/25" Mirage (going to try a labbed 24 Bravo...looking for 70. May go to a shorty drive and try some spacers), and an 08 Convincor 270BR w/496MAG running 61 w/stock 24 Bravo. Still playing with props on that one too.

IC....I hope your buddy didn't hit his head on the platform when he popped up from holding the air gun on the speedo pickup LOL!! Just had to give you a hard time brotha. :poke: Get the tach in the picture next time.:thumb:

nice pics on your web page of your starflite, mine did'nt come with the hood ornament though.heres mine '89 starflite with a 91 johnson 300hp v-8 now modified to 425hp mounted on a land&sea hydrulic jack plate run all the way up.nose cone and a 26p ballistic chopper prop with hot foot throttle 77mph on gps with more available still learning to keep it smooth at speed. As for the other posts in here about chine walking get the play out of the steering and just get more seat time you gotta learn to drive thru it.sounds crazy but it works.first times out could'nt get boat over 65 without chine walking but we're gettin there.lets go fast ye-hah!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
time to fix my old post .since this post iI have found out my boat is a Spectra not a Starflite, and have added Seastar pro steering boat is so tight my best runs to date are 81.4 gps at sealeval no chine walk:bigthumb: Also my boat is up for boat of the month check it out:banana:
