Lake Norman NC 2011

This time of year they all look great, But I see myself sitting at the Queens Landings "2 teir only floating bar on the lake" bar the most/longest. Looks like a nice group of 3 or 4 places around where 150 crosses over. And it looks like The Landing has rooms avialable too! Which one has the Best View from the patio?

It looks to be apx. 10-11 miles from the dam to where 150 crosses over. Thats perfect not to small nor to big either. I just need to work up a plan to have wife down at her brothers (Charrlotte) when I pull in with the boat.
Its 588 miles staright down I-77 to The Landing. 9-10 hrs. 2 tanks

All the bars are good, I also like the floating bar at queens landing. "The Landing" which most peope call it the Lake Norman motel has good food and music. I eat their mostly at night, not much going on during the day. Now for the rooms I here they are very ify. Everybody says eat their dont sleep their. Dont know for sure, thats a chance you can take. Maybe about 10-12 rooms total.

I say check the rooms out for quality and bugs for us Red. If they check out, it can be the official place for us to stay.....imagine the entire hotel filled with drunken checkmate peep's!!

Live their for 2 years, HA HA spent many weekend nights drag racing in front of the DMV. I think that was the waterbury DMV.

Yeah, that would have been the Waterbury DMV. That must have been quite a while ago. Small world isn't it?
I'd like to leave this area also but my wife is a life-long resident and won't leave, she'e too good to divorce also.
How many guy's, gal's do you expect to get for this check get-together?
Will the state park allow an out of state truck-trailer to remain over night in case I decide to island camp instead of staying at the 'Bates Motel' or what ever it is you call that motel you pictured?

Yes lake Norman has camping. 3 camp grounds and a state park that allows camping. State park link below its close to the 150 bridge.

Yah that was about 20 years ago, I worked for Rizzo electric out of Danbury. Dont know a head count yet. I always use the long island ramp its close to the sate park,

It's not all that far for the Maryland, DC, and Virginia guys. It would not be a bad run if a few of us meet up and caravaned down. What say Keith, you thinking about it?

LKN is a great trip,i'm going to do my best to go.

I was hoping for some thing different, but it looks like I'll be in the starflite myself. But at this time I'm 90%+ sure the wife will be involved. You'll will like her, She's awhole lot pretty, nicer and funnier then I am. Let me know when and who is heading down. I'm off for 11 days off with the 4th on day 7 with no set plans. If the party ends up on a toon thats fine with me! Frankly if it wasn't for the history I have with my flite, I'm kinda embarassed of it and the wify would perfer the toon any way!
