Merc's New Ride, The "Well Deserved"

Finally have pictures of the 242 I picked up last Friday, Thanks to SCT's awesome thread I found it after it was on Craig's List for only 4 hours. A 600 mile round trip to find the colors look much better in person then in the pictures, I had to have it. A 2000 242 with a 454 mpi 385 hp with only a 148 hours listed at $17,000 This Thing is PRISTINE

After 20 seasons in the Starflite I think I'm well deserving of this fine new ride or I'm thinking of calling it, The S S Implication after this famous exchange (a personal favorite of mine)

Looks clean as hell. Congrats on the beautiful new ride. I do believe the model you listed is incorrect. That looks to be a ZT240. The 242 had a bolt on platform and a cabin door that went into the dash area.
You going to make it to the rally this year so we can see it in person?

That looks great! Nice step up over a starflite. Yes that is a 240zt but still a great boat! Should run low to mid 70s with that motor. Nice find Merc! Can't wait to see it in person!

Thanks, Yeh, you guys are right. I knew that, but there was a 98 brochure mixed in all the paper work with the 242 in it and the mind just got lazy. That's the one thing, as a big guy I wish it had the more traditional door down to the cabin.

Congrats merc! Awesome boat! I got a 26 pitch bravo that I might be selling. You'll have to get some numbers first tho. What prop is on it now?

I just noticed it now I am looking at it again . Only the molded swim platform is how I see the ZT in it. Looks ridiculously clean !! :thumb:

I am not trying to knock your new ride but would like to suggest that you have the CMI's pressure tested before you start the season. Unless of course you know for a fact they are new or have already been tested. PM me if you are interested in knowing how. It is not difficult, but will have to remove them. Can do the whole thing in a couple of hours. Will give you piece of mind. Just trying to help.

Very nice. Is it coming to the Chesapeake Bash?
Sure, unless I have 3000 reasons to pull something else!
I'll be getting the starflite out of storage this coming week coming and ready it for sale. Anyone from this site 3000 everywhere else starts at 3500. See everyone at the end of June!

Congrats Jeff! You the man....can't wait to hear some stories of you breaking the cabin in this summer!
