My jon boat conversion project

When I seen the title, first thing I thought was PWC engine and jet drive!! Them jet jons are sweet! Nice ride, looks 100% better than the before!
 
I came in here thinking that too. LOL! The Sears one I had when I was a kid is still sitting up at my uncle's house. He never used it and it would make a nice little rig to take the kids fishing in. I might have to see about getting it back from him. After years of me pulling it up on the cement pad my parents' old lake house the bottom has worn through in a few spots near the transom. Got a friend who welds though. :)
 
thanks guys! it's not only easier to look at but so much nicer to fish. it's perfect for backwaters and small lakes but the next one i do will be a wide bottom so i can bust up the river. i burnt up that old '69 johnson last summer so i need to find a new one before next season (black of course) and three grey seats too

Yes , That looks very nice .

It does bring one question to mind though .
I notice that alot of people cover the registration numbers when posting photos of their boat . Is there a security reason for this ?
 
I redid my my duck boat this summer. Complete with painting aluminum and and custom camo. Got to paint the boat with my 7 year old. She had a blast too. Thanks for sharing the project. Turned out great!

yeah i guess you could say that. you never know what type of creeps are out there.... some people get off on tracking down others on line and invading their privacy
 
I spent some time on the tinboats.net site. Cool place with a lot of great info! Gotta love boaters, everyone is willing to share knowledge and experience.

U bet Sam. That site is great! It's amazing what some of those guys have done with their projects. I heard about steel flex on tinboats and that product is amazing. If you do another aluminum boat you should try it
