hey guys, got everything 100% new stats new impeller new popet and all the gauges are hooked up. everything is working with one exception. i ran the "brown/white " wire from my engines forward harness to the "sig" terminal on my new autometer trim gauge. ( i made sure to get the one for merc) ive got the "ign" terminal ran to the forward harness "purple" wire and the "gnd" terminal to ground. when i turn on key power the trim gauge goes all the way to the top no mater what position the motor is in. i had it on and trimmed it all the way from top to bottom and back. no change in the gauge. any ideas? i thought about running a separate wire from the trim sensor all the way up to the gauge but then i figured there might be a common problem with the trim gauge sender on the motor or god knows what else i could be overlooking. so before i splice a wire and run it all the way up front for no reason......am i missing something?
Does the gauge stay in the full up when it's off? My gauge goes to the full up position when it's off. It sounds to me like the gauge is wired wrong. Could you get a pic of the back of the gauge?
When the sensor goes bad thats what it will do. They go streight up. Your gonna need to get a kit and replace them. There sold in pairs.
opps I forgot your an egg beater guy. lol
i/o come in pairs.
If its going strieght up and you wired it direct, I would do that next.
They go bad. Hope being and o/b its easier then an i/o to replace.
