New 21 Pulsare setup! 93-94 mph!

Ruuuuuulax Randy! Just a friendly jab since..

I'm just saying that I have not heard from anyone that the modded 300 motors have run bigger numbers than the stockers. I believe anything that can be proved to be true. Just never seen it yet.

I would also take the XS over a modded X. :thumb: How often does anyone utilize 100% of a boats capability anyway?

You will never meet anyone as relaxed as me! You may even think I was dead!
I personally just like stock reliability. It's not how fast you are, it's how cool you look!

Last time I heard, the "Simonized" powerhead was $8995 exchange. That's alot of money for 1 mph and taking the weight out of the boat! I guarantee that it will use more than double the gas too. At 4000 rpm, a stock 300x gets 3 mpg on a 21 Checkmate. The 300xs gets 6 mpg at the same rpm with the same prop.

The coolest part of getting 95 and having the fastest Pulsare on the planet will be that you did it with the abilities of what your best at, setting up Checkmates. Not with all that pain in the butt, over priced Franken Motor stuff.:thumb:

I figuer at least my me doing some testing, anyone can do the same with bolt on parts and setup. No mods, and no weight shaving. Just buy a factory boat and motor, and GO FAST!

To me it's all about the setup!! You can have two identicle boats with identicle horsepower and one may run 10 mph faster than the other due to proper setback, motor height, prop diameter, pitch, propellor design, steering, etc. With all the experimenting I did on my Pulsare I rung everylast mph out of a stock Mercury 3 liter 225. I went from 5.5" of setback to 7.5" of setback to 15.5" of setback and ultimately back to 13.5" of setback (the boat was better balanced). I went from stock merc hyd. steering to SeaStar Pro to SeaStar Pro with the 6345 ram...I started with a Hydromotive 3 blade 26 to a DAH Chopper 26 to a DAH Chopper 28 to an Offshore 4 blade 25 to a Tempest Plus 25, ultimately to a Trophy Plus 26. The only thing I never got to experiment with was adding a nosecone or trying a Sportmaster gearcase (I don't think the boat was fast enough (at 77-80mph) for it to make much of a difference but I still would've liked to try it). My final GPS speed with a full tank of gas, two people, cooler and gear was 77.0 MPH GPS. I did run the boat by myself and was seeing 80 on my Livorsi Water Pressure Speedometer (which was amazing accurate alongside my GPS) but I did not have my GPS on that run. If I get another Pulsare 2100, my quest will be the magic 100 MPH!:thumb:

Close, but no cigar. I was turning 6500 with the 28. Tried the 30" prop today, but it made the boat handle kinda weird. I put the 28 back on and did a couple other things. The boat topped out at 94.73 mph but would stay on the limiter until the motor would go into Guardian mode after 10 seconds and drop the rpm to 2500. Here's a pic. I also took a video that I will download tonight.

That's crazy fast for a stock 300! Most guys with the 300XS on a 2100 aren't even breaking 90! Plus, I believe it's the fastest a PA 2100 has gone.

Hey Randy, you could probably have a good prop shop add a tad bit of pitch to the 28 without messing it up. Heck, it would only take 1/2" to get 96+.

I'm dying to find out the combo, but unfortunately I already have a Checkmate. Maybe we can work out something. . . like you sell me a prop, or the like. ;)

Impressive, and it got there in a hurry!

Since it's a "used" boat now, hows about $40k ;) I'll be over to get it end of april!

Hey Wildman,
I'm going to be in Florida all this week, When you want to take me for a ride?
I'll send the wife and kid to Disney and I'll go on the real ride!!

Too cool with the peak-a-boo towel on the prop, just like the racers!! You're a smart man.

94.75, congrats on that record brother. Checkmate owes you a belt buckle or something.
