New boat

It was funny looking at the for sale thread...... so many said "it had my name on it"!

So its all your guys fault :D peer pressure is a mo~fo!!!

The boat is getting documented so I have to come up with a name for her.....

So far I am drawing a blank.

"Hudy's Delight"
"Loose Change" (wasted income left me with loose change)
"Blown Income" (that would mean I'd have to procharge it... ;) )

ANY INPUT????

Brian,

Thanks for stopping by on your way through Indianapolis! It looked great in person and can't wait to see it in the daylight! We will be on the lake soon enough tho! Congrats!

I would like to break into the 90mph mark and have the ability to run low to mid 80's any day. Not sure what kind of power it will take but think 1050hp will get me close! I like the turn key and resale value of the 525's vs a home built powerplant.

I could be way off tho :o

Brian, it's your boat and dollars, but 525's are stupid big money. IMO way more money then should ever be put in a 1998 hull, even if it is nearly brand new in every way.
How many hours are on those 7.4's?, I would look at boosting them, you would get 10 -15mph, maybe a little more with headers. You would be close to where you want to be and allot less $$$$$ and pretty good resale value. Not that you build a boat with resale in mind, but if you ever were to sell it with brand new blue motors you'd lose your shirt.

I agree but I think he is thinking used blue motors

"$econd Mistre$$"
"Twice the Fun" (play on the twin motors)
"Nothing Left" (where I'd be if I had two boats or that the throttles are WFO)
"Wasted Mate" ( reference to the Captain/crew, play on WI's name.)

Brian, That is one sweet looking boat. And it's my colors too! Every time I browse checkmates for sale on line I'm always drawn to the ones with the Blue and yellow graphics. I believe I have seen that one on line. If I remember it is like new condition. From what I see from your pics it looks new. Glad you found one. Enjoy it. Congrats! :thumb:

Motors have 391 hours. They are the 454EFI motors @ 310hp each. The positive thing is they are hard to destroy as is. The negative part is cast internals, poor cam, and junk heads. By the time I buy prochargers, forged cranks, 4340 rods, forged pistons, cams, heads, etc, I can buy a good used set of 525's or build a pair of larger non-boosted motors for less money.

Now just plug those holes in the back and hang a pair of 300XS's on there!
Gary, not sure how it would run with all the extra goodies in the cabin. Might be really nose heavy and perform poorly.

Sides, the only thing better than the sound of a BBC firing up.........is hearing the second one roar to life!
