Do not own a checkkmate yet, but was looking for some info and I may be a future owner.
Went to look at a70 something Trimate 16.5 or 17 Sunday and it had no floor at all, just a piece of wood running down the center. This seemed odd to me. I am not a complete newbie to boats. I put a composite transom and did some stringer and floor work to my Mako 17.

The Trimate came from the factory with stringers and a floor didn't it?

Thanks and forgive my ignorance about the checkmate boats. I see very few for sale in my area, but have always loved the way these boats look.

:welcome: all checkmate boats came with floors. some with single stringers and some with multiple. it sounds like you found a boat that someone start to rebuild the floor and just stopped. if you look in the restoration section there should be a few rebuild thread on these boats that will give you an idea of the work that will be needed.

good luck on finding a boat.
