Newly acquired sportfire!.. Belonged to 3 members here

Hey guys, just wanted to introduce myself. I am Tyler, I just purchased (well in the process of purchasing) Cody widmann's checkmate sportfire. He goes by leadfoot327 on here. From what I understand this boat was owned by kct11 (curt) first, and then needafunboat sold it to Cody. I rode in the passenger seat of this boat a few years ago when he first got it and loved it! Since then, the floor was torn out of it and was sort of put on the back burner. I've known Cody since I've had baby teeth and worked at his family's corvette shop for 8 years before starting the job I am at now. I've also helped Cody a little bit as he was building the new floor for the checkmate in hopes of riding in it again. Since then Cody has moved forward with his life and career and has not had time to finish the boat. The structure of the floor is 100% done and the boat is ready to be put back together. I plan on mounting the fuel tank, batteries, oil tank, and rewiring the whole thing as well as putting in the new interior. If all goes as planned the boat will be back on the water this summer in the south jersey area. I've been around boats my whole life (dad had a boat since he was 12) and I absolutlely can't wait to run this one as it is my first boat that i can call my own. I'll be running in the stone harbor/wildwood area if anyone ever wants to meet up, let me know!

Welcome aboard. :)

Cool story - thanks for sharing.

We'll look forward to seeing the final results! :thumb:

Welcome. I see a 2100 and then a 2400 in your future..lol. That's what it started for me anyway.

Thanks guys! I will certainly post pics up as I go. It doesn't really look any different right now than it did in the last posts of leadfoot327 though. I'm definitely looking forward to this summer and yes I'm sure that this is only the start of the addiction!

Cool boat with a cool story....gonna be fun watching this Sportfire get back in the game.

Welcome to the madness and good luck man
