Gimme Fuel

Well-known member
The time has come to put my 253 up for sale. I am ready to move up to a larger boat as we are weekending on the water more often than we used to.

Boat is extremely clean and I have included pics of the only flaws. Hull and interior is extremely clean/shiny/well cared for

Features:
-Drop out bolsters
-Deluxe cabin package with cabinets and countertop
-Mayfair single ram hydraulic steering
-Bravo I outdrive with nose cone and shower, Synthetic NEO oil only used
-Boat Leveler Co. Hydraulic trim tabs with indicator and all new plumbing
-Pioneer double-din touch screen AM/FM/CD/DVD/MP3 radio
-Icom VHF Radio
-Dual amplifiers running 4-6x9 pioneer speakers and tho 10" subs
-3 Group 24 dual purpose marine batteries with switch, all new power leads
-Full Gaffrig Instrumentation including oil temp, pyrometer, fuel presure, oil pressure, water temp, trim, fuel level, tachometer, mech. speedometer
-Autometer stand-alone Digital Air/Fuel ratio gauge
-Garmin GPS176C Color Mapping GPS system
-freshly repainted and re-rigged bilge
-Large sea strainer with freshwater flush system
-Extra thick V-Berth cushions
-Snap-in cockpit carpet
-Cockpit Cover
-2002 Eagle all welded steel bunk trailer with new coupler/electric brakes/bearings

Current engine is all new 548 Cu. In Big Block Chevy EFI motor just pulled for some minor tweaks and dyno tuning. Build Thread located here:

This engine is also available separately for those looking to upgrade. I would consider your current stock engine as partial trade.

I am not posting prices as there are numerous options to how the package could be grouped. For those who love the boat but want stock power, I could find a take-out stock engine and install it. Serious inquires by PM and we can talk.

I sure do hope that beauty goes to somebody that can appreciate the love and quality detail that was put into it.

Good luck Ron with the sale, and tell us a little bit more of what your looking to upgrade to.

It will be a Powerquest for sure. Undecided yet is whether it will be a 34 Vyper or a 38 Avenger. Have my eye on one of each right now. Either way it will be a 80+ mph condo on the water.

I saw this boat a couple months ago at Rons wedding and it is clean as can be. Top deck is so slick I almost slid off and into the bay.

It is just too darn hard to get those great sunset reflective bow pictures to post on FB if the deck isn't slickery smooth!

I seriously have spent far too many hours buffing and getting it to look that way. I paste wax it twice a year and spray/detailer wax it every other time out.

Drive a PQ before you buy one. Real heavy (slower than Checkmates) wave crushers. Lots of other boats do that better. Scarab AVS might be worth a look.

I am looking at 2001-2002 PQ's with the double step hull. They had these things figured out for speed pretty well in late 2001. The 34 with twin HP 500's is everyday 80 mph boat and when running light good conditions will hit 85. Thats dang respectable for something with 5'7" cabin headroom. No matter which one I get, it will end up with air compressors.

I do love scarabs but I am looking for the large/tall cabin. I'm tired of crawling around in them. If money was no object I would go straight for a Black Thunder!

I had a 2002 Powerquest. Best built boat I have ever had. Build quality and gelcoat second to none. It was a heavier boat, but the step made up for that. Gelcoat was a brighter white and was so perfect it almost looked painted.

Looks great!! were is it located?? Been Off the forum of a while, A long while.... another child and a house move has put the boat search on hold...But I think I'm ready again!! :bounce:

I am located in Saginaw, Michigan. Only a couple hours from you in Sarnia. I was just down in Port Huron last weekend.

Spring Time Bump! The snow finally quit so I could get her ready.

After this weekend, it will be ready to be water tested by new buyers! Just need someone to step forward!

Engine is a 502 MAG MPI with fresh top end. Cool-Fuel system equipped with the upgraded mechanical lift sea/fuel pump.

$26k for add gas, turn key, and go boat. Needs nothing.

Here are some fresh cabin pics:
