Has anone ever used black carpet in a boat... I started to take out the snap in carpet, and found the backing was sticking to the floor in spots. It started coming apart- the worst part is the carpet is in great shape, but the backer is getting rotten from age. I'll have to get a new one made, but at least I have a template for who ever does the new carpet. Black would look great with the red seats and black trim on the inside- imo. I just can't recall ever seeing a black carpet in a boat... I don't think it would be that much worse than any other dark color as far as heat goes. Any recomendations on who to use for the snap in carpet?

The black carpet in my starflite never gets hot enough to be a discomfort to the feet.Just have vacuum it every time out.NICE FIND, LOOKS LIKE FUN!

sweet looking boat.....i don't use a strap i use the things that clip onto the trim cylinders that hold it in case of a hydraulic failure

Man i like old school boats like that, that thing is sharp lookin!! Has kind of a cross between the old 21' Cigarette 1 and a Classic Donzi look to it, bet it rides like a much bigger boat! How does it handle the rough stuff? Cool boat!!

Here is the good stuff! Its a balanced and blueprinted 509ci motor. 4.5"bore 4.0"stroke. It has edlebrock aluminum marine heads, 10:1 comp, msd ign w/5800rpm chip, an adjustable fuel regulator, imco exhaust, intake runners cut flush with plenum, crower cam (full roller valve train), Arizona speed and marine did the ecu and it has one on thier throttle bodies, 15qt oil pan. It has 46hrs on it since it was built (276hrs on hull). I'm the third owner. The first one lived in CT, then it went to Cali, now its in Ohio. Supposedly freshwater only. The last owner ran it a lake Taho (6500ft) and saw 78mph on the gps speedo. I figure 18% power loss at that altitued? If so, this should be a handful!

I don't know yet... the previous owner says I'll end up selling my 24, cause it rides so nice- we'll see. I haven't had it out since I've been home:o . He has owned 3of these 21ft Superboat Legends. Two outboards and this i/o. Says that the i/o rides really well. It has 21* of deadrise and a small pad, so it should. He also was running it with about 150lbs of sandbags for weight in the nose.

I'm going to have to look into making some cushions or somthing... cause this just won't do for a playpen:devil:.

Also, here is the carpet that came out of it and the floor after getting the padding off of it... time to start cleaning out the bow and then the floor.

This boat had the Blackhawk drive on it orginally... I know for a fact that at least two were made that way. The other one ran 96 on gps from what I've read w/a stock 502. The first owner replaced the blackhawk with a B1, so if you look closely you can see the different decals on the drive/transom assy. I'd love to get ahold of a blackhawk drive. I know that props are hard to come by, though.

Yes, I'm going to sell somthing next spring, thats the plan as of now. Eveything fits into the garage, though...:sssh:

Super boat is probally in the top 5 boats made today!!! Years ago the classic Super boat was the fastest best built boat on Long Island and held its own against anyone. Like the old Donzi's that boat gets better with age!!! A priceless item as far as I am concerned!!:thumb:

Go over to Scream and Fly and lok up Dirk Pitt and M Ragu -- They are Super boat experts!! They run 21's with 300x's in the low 90's The boat runs te chit out of the rough stuff!!!!!!!!!!!!!;)
If the last owner was runnig sand bags -- he could not handle the boat -- it is a drivers dream!!

I have black carpet in my Jetmate. I like it, really set the interior off!

I think I might do black carpet, or dark grey.... yeah, I was looking to buy mragu's 21 over on S&F... if I had a better year, I would have. I think he is asking a fair price for it, considering what all is done to it. By the time I figured in a 300xs to the price of the hull, I'd have more in it than what I could pull off at this time... If anyone is looking for a 21 outboard powered superboat hull, this is the one to buy! Better than new, at a fraction of the cost: http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/showthread.php?t=192526

There is also a 30' tempest for sale at a great price on there with twin 250 mercs: http://forums.screamandfly.com/forums/showthread.php?t=196212

I hear ya... I'd just like to have all the chit paid for!!! I'm leaving tommorow for some running out west- they have a propane shortage right now... its a start- I hope we have a good winter, cause summer sucked. I've made less this year than the previous ones and spent more... go figure:brickwall:
