Yellowfiero's playmate resto!

I just read all 22 pages of this over the course of the day. What a great story. There was a red and black one at the little marina where I keep my boat and the guy was selling it but he wanted some ridiculous amount for it and it was just a decent condition stock boat. You are a talented guy YF, great looking rig!

John

looks real good yellow. For the pain I know your in that is very impressive.
I know how the back feels, I've had two fusion surgeries myself. (2004 + 2007)
your back is sore but you want to do something, getting started is not easy but once you get going your determination to get the job done helps you forget about the pain, as you reach your days goal your back starts getting stiff and you find it hard to move without cringing (your back is reminding you that it has a problem) by the time your ready to turn off the light in the garage your walking with ever so gentle steps and you can't wait to lay flat on your back on a very firm mattress.
That is what my days are like, can I assume yours are the same?

Nail on the head bro! I love doing this and have had to walk away from doing 90% of the stuff as its just to hard on me. I am still hoping one day I can move with limited pain.

you will have more good days ahead than bad ones, but sorry to say the bad ones are still bad. With what I've been through lately the back is the least of my problems but it is still a problem. I've been following your posts regarding your back issues and I want you to know I wish you a good and speedy recovery. And keep up the good work, it's a pleasure to see it

Yea, just saw your thread as well. I can not imagine something like that happening, a true tragedy. I knew something happened when I saw your ink avatar in your past, so heart breaking.

As for the back, when are the days going to get better? I have heard 5weeks-8 months. So far, its been over a year and i get worse the more I try and use it. On paper it was successful as it is fused together and strong. However, pain reduction is not factured into the stats.

our injuries are different. I wore mine out with the type of work I do/did where I believe yours was injured in an accident so I can't say my experience would match yours or not. I have been fused from L-4 to S-1 between two surgeries (04 + 07) The scar makes it look like my ass crack is a foot and a half long, can't pull my pants up far enough to cover it.
Believe it or not if you do nothing but laze around the pain is worse all day. If you stay active the pain is only bad for the first couple of hours after you finish laboring.
You will likely be a more accurate barometer than the local weather man, I can feel rain/snow coming a day ahead of time and usually can guess if there will be alot or a little. Sorry if I'm not cheering you up but I think you are the kind of guy that just wants the truth. You will get use to it and make adjustments and you'll be fine.

Brian, looks awsome !!!! nows a little late....could have a done a mask for the flames as well...do them for paint shops around here all the time...saves them tons of time...as you know !! great job !! love it !!! Rob

YF,
That thing is absolutely sick. Amazing job, and can't wait to see the finished project.

Like all the others around here i wish you the best and hope for a speedy recovery. Stay safe and listen to the docs and physical terrorists. They will do you a world of good.

Got the trailer roller replaced. With it coming into contact with the new paint, I don't want it to damage anything. Cheap insurance!!

Got the helm back in and started the re rig today!

For the center grab rail, I cut 4" out of it. This will allow the larger pop up bow light to be mounted. I made sure I glassed the old screw hole when I did the hole for the old light. Also used new rail mounts from Sea Dog. They are really sweet stainless products instead of the chrome pot-metal that was originally used!

Even got the rear pop up cleats installed!

Finally, got the glass pulled and tinted!

Question. Why a kill switch for the passenger? I would think you would want to be able to go back and get whomever got tossed out as quickly and easily as possible.

John

I would be glad to if it would fit, nothing I'm getting this time of year is big enough, would have to be a 101" wide 4 place sled trailer and I won't be getting any of those till fall

Looking good nice flame work

If they can't hold on, it will do them good to swim after the boat:lol:.

Mostly its a DNR thing. You over play the safety thing, they will overlook other things! I have had them look at the boat and that was one thing they did comment on was the safety of the dual lanyards.

hey yf that boat looks bad a$$. i am not big on flames but it looks sharp. (clean). i bet your gona cry when it leaves. just remember thats a down payment on the new one.

yf you always blow me away with your restores. the factory has nothing on you. the boats you redo looks better than they did from the factory. another great job!
