    Tank Pull the fuel outlet fitting that the hose attaches to at the tank and look for a screen on the bottom of it. Mine was stopped up. I ended up having to have the bottom of my tank replaced to stop the trash issue. I have not replaced the filter once since.(2 1/2 years)

    We pulled a 3.7l 4cyl out of my Diplomat. Had to make stringers for the v8 because the 3.7 mounts like a 3.0. Daren34 made a block-off plate for the stock exhaust in the transom. I had a 228 Merc (305 v8 4bbl) out of a boat we scrapped. I used cardboard to mock up the pipes below the steering...

    experiment with the trim, Checkmates love lots of trim.....the hull lifts and you can feel it free up and really start to fly. That always brings a huge grin!!! Do you have a jack plate? you will want one. back in the early 90's Daren34 and I put a then new 140 evenrude on his 1980 Diplomat...

    remember that an edelbrock\carter afb is a vac secondary carb. Sneaky Pete and I both found edelbrocks to restrict power severely. On the Holley issue of tinkering, I think removing the power valves fixes most of this. the reccomendation is to raise primary jets 4 steps when plugging. Mine can...

    is it lake water all over everything or condensation? condensation is a real possibility with no heat crossover in the intake to warm the carb. but look for a water leak just in case

    Slow CMC The one I put on daren34's o/b diplomat was like that, slow.... I used 2 diesel glow plug relays and 4 gauge battery cable to eliminate wiring as an issue but it was still slow
