HOW FAST IS YOUR CHECKMATE? EVERYONE!

240 zt

I have a 1999 240 zt 7.4 ltr mpi.3 blade 23 solaris i can get up to 64 with just me in it. is there any ideas out there to make it go faster? thanks.

updated... 88 Diplomat, 383 small block max 77 mph with 1.8 gear alpha drive turning 27" mirage or 28" mach 4 sterndriver labbed and with diffuser ring cut off. Think I have power to go even faster, but am running into gearcase blowout. Once we get past the blowout, it'll be time to put a 1.65 gear upper and the sternjack on... :brickwall:

a typical rainy afternoon on the river...

hula dancers

if i could have got one of those girls to quit crying and sit on my motor the other day for the hour ride in after i hit whatever knocked the stainless blade off my 24 chopper at 6 k rpm, than ill continue to smile that it didnt happen at 75k rpm, and i can laugh about my hula dancing wobbling handgrenade, and the ratio of gear cases, pistons, and smiles i get, in one summer. wait till winter...

enchanted one

if i hadnt set up my enchanter like i did, ide be dead, so would my passengers. setup, control, and whiskey. haha.were lucky, us damned fools. im going need it when you see wuts next.

4 blade cleaver

murphys prop shop might be able to fix my 4 cleaver i crippeled when i hit an engine on the bottom of the creek, i hope, cause im trying to avoid putting a 3 litre on my smilemaker.

hi guys..im a new guy here

88 starliner
87 second effort offshore limited Johnson V8
sea star hydraulic steering redundant system to integral power steering
bobs machine shop jackplate + mazco spacers ==> about 8 " backspace
mazco 28" round ear
all gear removed and 1/4 tank gas
nordskog speedo best ever "saw" 80 mph
consistent 76-78 with gear tho
but that was a while back .... I dont run like it that anymore

9/8/09 At St. Mary's lake...temp 72*, humidity 70%, no wind- 79.9gps.

I jacked the motor up quite a bit- over an inch. The jack is topped out and I still have good water psi, so I'll have to raise the motor another hole...
Prop a little over 2"below the pad turning a 28p rakerII around 5850rpm. Solid motor mounts, hyd steering, and an 8" plate. 1/2 tank of fuel, gf along for the ride, and most gear onboard.
It was sticky water and had the whole lake to myself. Ran from Celina to St. Marys and back wfo- 78-79mph the whole way. Don't see days like this at that lake too often (its usually rough). Its extremely easy to drive and balance, I couldn't be happier with this setup.

Low 80s here I come...:bigthumb:

still workin on it...think the dead bug on the bottom of the speedo slowed me down

it was slow to start with

but if you ever were a captain and told the 4 others onboard to get in back while idoling along at 6krpm, and when you pushed the hotfoot to the floor waiting for the second it took get 7k, and your machine went out of control, and once i slowed down enuf , my 75 nearly went under water. anyone ever lost a blade off ther prop? thank the lord my boat dont chine.:thumb:

gear case keel

the whackey welders have fixed me up a gearcase that i dont care if the prop blows off it. its about safety, keeping smiles, andnot killing ourselves while smiling. i try to keep safe, but you never know. how much does it cost you to be safe? live and learn. i want my masters degree in going slow. cant wait till the exam.:sssh:

hey rick

you can sit down there in florida, but ill race you with my new boat, old boat, next boat, dream boat, einsteins boat, harts boat, and my row boat:eyecrazy:you already knew us fools need gear cases:irked:

Playmate 34 non gps, 9 gallons gas, me, 50hp mariner

I think I finally got my ECU's dialed in. I have a 2000 2100 Pulsare BR. I have 13 1/2" of setback. I run a warmed up 225EFI.(some Simon Motorsports upgrades) I spin a 25 Trophy Plus @ 6200rpms for a best max speed of 80.1mph GPS. I'm still prop testing to see where I hit my best topspeed. Hopefully I can report back in a week with better results.

Yes!!! I might see 80 this summer after all. I don't have the set back you do...only 6". I'm running an 06 2000 BR Pulsare with the 225 Pro XS. So: slightly lighter hull, same hp(?), same prop, with less setback = 80 mph??? MAybe???
