CHECKMATES NEW 43 FOOTER

What does it read with 15-18% slip. 10% sounds very low for a step bottom IMHO. I have the little brother of this boat (36 Apache) and I run 11% slip.

Wow, who would have thought that one day, a 36ft Apache would be considered the LITTLE brother of a Checkmate
Can't wait to see if the Punisher can have the wave crushing abilities of those Apache's {my guess it will}.
In big water the Apache is a hard act to follow for sure.

Very kool.

4000rpm=73mph GPS, prop testing will tell, I think the 32's are a little small, we only need to spin 5200rpm stay tuned

Jeff

How did the hull respond to the changes made by you/Checkmate? I know some of the Lords of Offshore on OSO were saying that hull has no lift and stays "suction cupped" to the water.

How much lighter is it than the original?

What is the break-in time on the 700's?

Sorry for all of the questions.

Thanks.

We still have to test on the step venting, so no news there as of yet. This boat being 10300lbs is prob at least 5k lighter than the Chief was.

PS to think an Apache guy is even calling this boat cool means a lot to me!!! They have my utmost respect!!

5k lbs lighter! Wow, your boat went on a diet and lost more weight than most boats on this Site weigh complete.

The Chief ran good in rough water so I'm sure the CM will also! Plus, you won't have to run the gobs of HP that I run in my boat (850hp a side) to run 90 mph!

It sure is a beast! If I were single I would be ordering one right now. In fact, I'm mentally calculating what one(divorce) would cost right now.......

I was hoping you'd be the first to build a 101 mph 2000 BRX SCT!

43ft Checkmate Up Date

43ft Checkmate Up Date. Checkmate Tested Friday Afternoon and Testing Went Well. Checkmate Opened up the Holes in the Ventilated Bottom and the 43ft Checkmate Came on Plane Much Better and the Speed was Raised from 73 MPH to the High 70's at the Same RPM with Plenty More Throttle to Go. Checkmate Thinks the Test Props that are on the 43ft Checkmate are to Small. Checkmate will be Testing today in a Much Bigger Area where they will have More Running Room. Hope all of You have a Great Weekend. Best Wishes Always Sammie Action Marine

That thing sounds awsome. Sounds like he was kicking it a little more on the second Vid, Coop.
There's just not enough room for much more than checking to see if everything works on that water. Even the small boats run out of room quick before you have to turn.
