Gave SCT's dad a tour of the shop tonight. Showed him all my junk piles.


Removed the stern eyes, they look pitted and bent. Replacements on the way.

Classic Checkmate! I must have missed it, but is the plan to go back to the twin 6 cylinder Mercs? That would be beyond cool.

Edit: I see in post #7 you plan to go back to the twins. NICE!

Everything above the tape is faded, below the tape is what I'm looking to come close to.

Yeah, but my painting season can't start early. Too freaking cold to spray just yet, so the prep continues. Which will only make it a better boat.

I finally got my CM trim tabs painted and re-assembled with new hardware. Can't decide whether to paint the lettering white or keep it black. What do you guys think?

I think it would look better colored but if its not nice clean lines it will look sloppy and crap.

Pretty sure Coop is going to find a way to keep it and add it to his collection. Maybe a builders title , mechanics lean or gel coat time out ?

Dude, if your old Johnson is stained, you've been doing something either very right, or very wrong.... Either way, CONGRATS!!!

My painter "dude" sent me this pix today of his prep-work. If the weather co-operates, he hopes to have the metal flake coat on soon!
