SCT's 1969 Checkmate V191 Raceboat restoration.

Gave SCT's dad a tour of the shop tonight. Showed him all my junk piles.


Removed the stern eyes, they look pitted and bent. Replacements on the way.

Classic Checkmate! I must have missed it, but is the plan to go back to the twin 6 cylinder Mercs? That would be beyond cool.

Edit: I see in post #7 you plan to go back to the twins. NICE!
 
I think this is as close to a match as it will get.

Everything above the tape is faded, below the tape is what I'm looking to come close to.

My painter "dude" sent me this pix today of his prep-work. If the weather co-operates, he hopes to have the metal flake coat on soon!
