SCT's 1969 Checkmate V191 Raceboat restoration.

Shannon are you gonna keep the boat original or add some after market bling? You got the right person to do the resto for ya!!:bigthumb:

Coop, is a dang slave driver but luckily I got out of his shop before he broke out the sandpaper! He's doing ALL the hard work for me. I recommend anyone with a small to medium size gel/flake job to give him a PM.

Rob, I'm going to keep the boat strictly stock. I bought it from cm member EricN, who knew the original owner. The boat was ordered from the CM factory in 69' as a dual engine race boat to run the FJJ class back in the day. It's amazing how solid the boat is for 46 years old (and been raced). Coop will be re-spraying the red metal flake on the deck, transom, and sides of the hull. He will be doing a couple of informative videos of the process. Hope to re-rig the boat with dual inline 6 1250 Mercs and show it in a few local antique boat shows. Should be a fun project!

Oh man are you kiddin me, a '69 Checkmate race boat being restored to original condition by Coop and Shannon.
I am so dang jealous I can't stand it ---- however I know I'm gonna learn some kool stuff watching this resto.

Good luck guys , this is gonna be awesome to watch.

This is where I need a tiny helper around the shop.

At some point I think the front deck got knocked loose, and was repaired with about a hundred or so screws with nuts on them. Any volunteers to hold the wrench for me?

New nameplate coming soon.

Again, SMASH that "thank you" button if you think those fenders should match the boat. :poke:
